  1. I drive an 08 BMW 135i and I had to have an installer cut some plastic parts where my factory radio was placed, this was 2 years ago. I had a different installer last week install a PAC wiring harness from the crappy Metro wire harness I was using. PAC harness is working great, however the bezel holding in the 8000NEX radio isn't stable at all. The first installer didn't follow the instructions properly and just botched my install. Anyone know of any companies making a Double DIN kit for a 135i coupe without navigation? Problem #2 When I plug in my lightning chord into my phone and hit
  2. I have an Iphone 6 I just recently bought that is updated with the most recent apple software. I'm on my second Avic 8000NEX, first one was replaced due to hardware issues. I've been having issues with car play and no sound. I hook up the lightning chord to the phone and car play pops up and I hit play and it works, but if I leave my car and jump back in 20 minutes later to hook it up I wont get sound at all. I'm updated with the most recent Pioneer software as well and I replaced my lightning chord, that didn't seem to help at all. One more issue, I have a membership with Tidal and love
  3. It doesn't change when I step on the gas, the whining noise isn't coming for the engine bay or alternator. The whining high pitch is coming from the speakers, I brought it in and the installers told me the harness has to go. It's funny that you brought up the alternator, the car is 5 years old and is still using the original battery it came with. Dealership told me to replace it. Could it be the battery too?
  4. I have a Crux harness in my car right now that's causing havic whenever I make a call it makes this high pitch whining noise. What harness is everyone running with their NEX radios? I'm getting a new harness installed on Sunday, their using a Metra BMRC-01. Myles
  5. I want to thank you guys for my previous thread, CarPlay works but my radio is giving me a hard time. Whenever I'm making a call on Bluetooth or using CarPlay I get this high pitch whinning noise. I brought it into the installer and they told me the CRUX harness has to go. I bought the crux harness for my previous single DIN Alpine and it worked great, but it's not working great for the AVIC 8000. The installer has a metra harness that says should take care of the problem, but he's charging me $159, in which I can purchase for $49 on amazon. The installer also suggested a "connects2" harness,
  6. Ok everyone, under settings the I didn't select Iphone/Ipod settings. So, CarPlay works great until I tried it the second time. Second time I got into my car to actually try it out, and the screen went from the Pioneer loading screen to the a flat screen. I had to turn off the car for a second and turn it back on before I got it up and running again. It's not running smooth at all, there's a delay (intermittent issue) with hitting buttons and navigating through the radio? What should I do?
  7. Hey everyone, I joined the forum due to issues that I'm having with my AVIC-8000NEX, and to keep up to date on what's going on with the NEX line. First off, today I downloaded Version 1.06 then right after I downloaded 1.08 firmware. I looked for Car Play all over the radio and I can't find the app, and it won't inititiate when I plug in the lightning chord. ANy input would be great. Number 2, eversince I've bought the unit, going in and out of apps the radio has a little lag here and there, and sometimes when I tap a pre-set or to use an app I have to hit it harder. Am I having issues
