  1. vblue42, are the controls reverse? as in, is the volume up counter clockwise? i know the sony's used to be this way, but, you were able to change the settings. I used to love using the wired sony remotes. PAC used to make an adapter so you could use it as a remote control. since the 90bt doesn't accept a remote, it won't work that way. anyway, if it does work the way id like it to, i'm hookin one up. thanks
  2. I like using the American International kit for the trucks. But, can't you just drill some new holes on your current kit to get it positioned the way you want it?
  3. I also use Shure E5C's and SE530's, but I can't tell a difference between them and the earphones you get with the iPod. LOL.
  4. when it comes to ipod control, the Z3 is too slow for me. i went from an Z1 to my F90BT. even with the issues, i'd still take the F. i do wish i could still use my cd changer though.
  5. do you mean when the nav is guiding you or just when you are driving around with the map on? i was able to change mine when just driving around. i haven't really used the nav much, but, did notice today that it sometimes showed only north up.
  6. I tried an R55 remote and couldn't get it to do anything.
  7. F90BT...Although it has it's issues right now, the Z series is in great need of an update. I'd still like to have used my CD changer though. I'm still big on uncompressed audio cd's. As slow as the iPod is to start, it seemed to take that long to search from A-D with my old Z1. LOL.
  8. I have mine under the dash in a Scion XB. I also almost always install them under the dash with success. One thing I have noticed with the F90BT, is that it is more accurate in areas where my Z1 did not know which part of a fwy transition I was on.
  9. i was real happy to have my Verizon Wireless XV6800 connect and upload the phone book flawlessly. i had my concerns because of the issues the btb-200 had with windows mobile 6 phones.
  10. I'm not a big fan of Metra's interfaces. I also don't like the all in one BOSE/NON-BOSE box. I'd call their tech support and make sure you used the right interface. Or, try an PAC OS2.
  11. I tried using an CD-R55 remote on it and it wouldn't do a thing.
  12. ZAPCO Competition amps do not work well with 2volt inputs. Most people might not even know or hear the difference. But I do, and so do the ZAPCO guys. Their solution would cost me some money so I had been holding out. ZAPCO amps can take over 16v of input with their symbilink transmitters, but, it hurts when what you start with is low. the frequency response would change pretty quickly on my Z1 and that is what caused me the most grief. I needed to stay lower in the sweet spot of the volume. I sold my Z1, installed it in a 2008 Tahoe with an Alpine PDX5 and it was awesome. Ful
  13. I think there was something wrong with your D3! 4v preouts are a marketing gimmick really - you only get 4v at full volume (62), and the voltage increases exponentially, so at normal volume there won't be much difference between 2v and 4v preouts. If your HU and amps are working properly and the gains are setup correctly, you shouldn't notice any difference between the two. I've scoped the preouts on my F900, and they output roughly 2v rms at volume 62. At volume 58 it's down to 1v rms, and at more normal volumes it's much much lower (probably 0.0.. something). Therefore, with 4v preouts,
  14. I think the screen is awesome. i have no problem at all with sunlight. might be because of the location. the high resolution makes up for the small screen imo.
  15. i also have the same problem. when switching tracks and button presses, it also has distortion. it's one of the most irritating things about my F90 currently. =(
