Funny, my sister has a friend that bought her boyfriend a D3. Where do you live? either way, I'm not ruining the surprize.

It is a problem with certain Ipods. I have an old school Ipod, no color screen no video, and I have no noise with the charging on and the back light off. When my wife puts her ipod in, a video ipod, there is white noise in the back ground with the charging on. I think the d3 manual even says something about the noise and to fix it turn the charging off.

Yeah, I was in the middle of nowwhere, looking for the closest phillips 66. HAd to zoom out and find the next closest city, then search that city and determine which was the closest to the highway. Major pain. there needs to be a way to adjust the vicinity search, and to list things by distance would be nice. Hard to believe that is a 1000 dollar upgrade to the Z2.

Great, kinda defeats the purpose of a nav unit to take on ski trips. I don't suppose there is anything to prevent it from blacking out iin the cold?

actually, my old pioneer deck, deh=p7500 had that, but it never worked. I guess there was something I didn't hook up for it to work, i wasn't losing sleep over it though

sorry for the second post, I haven't called them yet. I've kinda been putting up with the random exiting, but now that it's straying over 1200 miles off, I'm calling them when I get a chance.

I'm in the US. Oklahoma to be exact.

I'm not having as bad of a problem with the routing, but its very annoying. I will be on the freeway in my area, and there are some places it will have me take an exit, only to get right back on the freeway goin the same direction. It tells me to "Keep right ahead" and shows it on the map, but it never say anything else. Its like it thinks the exit is the freeway. Like I said its only in some places, but it does it every time in those places. The annoying part is if you aren't paying attention and you take the exit only to find out you are getting right back on. The other problem I have
