1. This is an old thread, but my Pioneer AVIC HD3BT is also old and has starting to acting weird and I suspect the harddrive needs to be replaced or fixed. Can this unlocking method be used for swapping the harddrive with a new one? (Of course after I cloned the old disk into the new disk..) Can I even put in larger disk? What about using a SSD disk? The fault in my unit is that sometimes when I start playing a song, after a few second it would skip the song to the next. It can continue doing this for a few song from that album. If I play songs from an album I have put on later it works f
2. Hum.. this sounds intresting. I too live in a country where cars has constant driving lights all day. It should be possible to make a adjustable automatic lightsensitive switch. Let me think on this for a few days and I'll see if I can come up with something (if there is not a unit already out there that do this)... I'm working with electronics daily, and I know of a ligtsensitive resistor (LDR) and this could be connected to a curcuit with a small relay that switches on at a specific amount of lights on the component. As mentioned before, photocell for house lights works this way, bu
3. Have you tried taking of your thick gloves when operating the touchpanel? Otherwise I have no idea what the problem is. Is the problem there only when the car is cold? Have you tried parking in a garage/parking house that is heated/warm? To see if the trouble is that the unit has to be on for some time or if it is the temperature in the car that make this problem. We have not had that cold weather over here yet, only down to -5degree celcius. And my unit has worked fine all the time, whatever the temperature is.
4. Has the GPS worked ever? You say you had the antenna under dash before but movet it to the roof when you got no signal. Did you ever get any signal? Where in the roof is the antenna mounted? Inside or outside the car. Any metal between the sky and the antenna will stop the signal from reaching the antenna. I have even heard that some car that have treads for heating built in to the front window dont get any reseption or very poor respetions on top of the dash and inside the car, even if it was close to the window. Try putting the GPS antenna outside and on the top of the roof of your car
5.
And the adress in top of this thread did not support Honda.
And when that did not work, where do I go then? I've google it with no result on the Honda Jazz, but I got hits on the Honda Fit, but those does not match my car.
6. I dont thinkt the F500BT is a replacement for the AVIC-Z2; It has a smaller screen (only 5,8" vs 7" on Z2) and it seems that is has no harddrive either. The HD or storagedevice is not mentioned anywhere in the pressrelease. But it looks more like a competition/replacement of the S1 unit. From the size they mentioned; 7" X 4" X .75" I cant think it can take CD or DVD either. It seems that it only has SD-memory card for adding your own POI (or software, maybe?).
7. Mr Bill Gates said early in the computer era that "640Kb should be enough for everyone", or something like that... Larger disk will give room for more music. I have 15 Audio-disc in now and only 92% free. I have a total of 450 Audio CD in my shelf. Not all of them used though, but I would like to put at least 150 of them in to the car, and have room for new music in the future. And I am also looking on a way to use a USB disk on this system (I have that CD-UB100 USB adapter). But it is hard to navigate on such system, and you can not search for a artist or album on the USB devices.
8. I would gladly make a copy of the harddrive if it could help anyone... Just tell me what to do. I'm actually intresting in if there could be a good reason for making a backup of the harddrive in case it should brake down. Is it a "standard" computer harddrive? Like a 2.5"HDD from a laptop? Is there something special about the filesystem on the disk? Are the HDD coded somewhat so you can't swap disk with a new (probably larger one)?
9. I have a Honda Jazz (GD1) 1.4LS CVT from 2007. Have also installed a Pioneer AVIC-HD3BT unit and are searching for the VSS wire but are not able to find it. I've searched the web and found the description for a Honda Fit, but when I opened my gauges the colors on the plug was diffrent. The description said it was on plug C pin 10 and it was a Blue/White wire, but there was no Blue/white wire there at all. And the numbering on the plug seems to be the other way around on my car vs the description I found online (http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual.htm) And the adress in top of this th
10. What else is diffrent from the AVIC-Z2 to the AVIC-HD3BT ? I'm new to this forum and I have just got a AVIC-HD3BT (with the correct maps for my region; Norway), but I'm trying to find out if there is some tweaking that can be done to this unit? I see some here at this forum, but most of them are for Z2. Is it just the maps that are diffrent? Are there any hardware diffrences? There is a few things that I want to fix or an answer to: I want to use DVD-R or DVD+R disc to store MP3 files to, but it seems like the HD3BT reader does not accept this cind of discs. Or maybe I'm doi
