1. Is there a way to bypass the Safety Warning message that comes on every time the unit starts up? No but you can bypass watching a moving while driving 2. Is there a way I can see text messages I get on my iphone on the screen, whether it be while in Apple Car Play mode or regular NEX mode? No not in regular mode. 3. On the main option screen, I see an image of a USB plug with (1) in the middle of it. The unit doesn't have an external USB port, so is that supposed to represent the SD card slot? I have an avic 8200nex. When I set my fader to the rear, the speaker wire output works. However the rear out ports for the amp connections turn off with the front output ports. I have triple check the cabling and I don't know why. I have a JL 1000/5 amp.

I just bought an AVIC 8200NEX. I was interested in everyone and anyone's opinion on what the best options are for steering wheel Controls. I know my options are: iDatalinkn Maestro SW Metra Axxess ASWC-1 PAC

I have a new 8200nex and the required kits from crutchfield. When i use onstar, my 8200 powers down completely while im using the OnStar feature. I did properly cable the AXXESS brown wire to the mute wire on the 8200 so its not supposed to power down. Once done with OnStar, the 8200 powers back up but there is no volume. Then if i shut my car off and open the door to kill the acc delay, then turn the car backon, the 8200 acts like only at 25% volume level, even with the volume cranked up to the max. To reset everything, i have to unplug the main harness which resets the whole unit.

New to the forum and to the NEX model line. I just ordered the 8200 with the axxess kits recommended by crutchfield for my 2006 GMC YukonXL Denali that has factory Bose, Nav, SAT radio, and rear dvd. Does anyone know of any gotchas out there? I have already learned the i need to take my green parking brake with and hook it into the ground wire on the harness... what else? thanks.
