  1. Seems to me this is becuaset he Mica only does 720p or higher, and the NEX units only take 480P HDMI input. Sucks, becuase almost EVERY device I have tried will not work, including the otherwise great-looking EZCast Wire for mirroring my Android phone. It works great on a monitor, but only goes down to 720p so the NEX won't see it.
  2. I found out that the "dealer" I bought it from on eBay, JB Tools, was not only not authorized, but on the specific list of excluded shops on Pioneer's web site. Wasn't paying attention on the front end, cost me on the back end. I emailed them about this, and they could care less, only saying it was "beyond our return window". Not really happy to have this at about six months of use, but stuff happens....

It is a lot of fiddling to get AppRadio going, I have a MiraCast box that I have to mirror the phone to, but it only takes a few minutes... For short trips it would be pointless. Android Auto is plug-and-go pretty much. However, the point of this post is to say that I did get Waze running in AppRadio with touch-screen control from the radio, which is what you were looking for. I have a Motorola X Pure (2015) phone
