  1. Honestly, it's just going to be the Navigation that will be your deciding factor. When using Nav, If you are in an area that has poor cellphone reception, you'd be better off with the 8400. Otherwise, just plug into (or use the wireless) Apple Carplay! Everything is handsfree. For whatever reason, Pioneer doesn't voice-nav anymore....meh... If you ever change your mind about the 4400, you can just purchase the add-on nav unit (AVIC-U280)! (retail price is rather outrageous however).
  2. Android auto, and Apple car play let you do just about everything have free! (Using only voice of course). The lock-out basically doesn't let you watch movies, toe phone numbers, nor addresses (if you purchased the optional nav add-on) without the parking brake wow seeing ground. I believe they kept the gyro on this and 4500 as well. You'll more than likely have to put the device into dev mode of you want a ticket...I mean.... Want to be able to watch movies while driving....yeah ...
