  1. I recently bought and installed a 4200nex which replaced my older avh-p4400bt. I bought the 4200 mainly because I liked my 4400 and I'd read many good reviews, but I am severely disappointed. This new unit is very slow and lags with any touch input. When I press the home button I can count to 3 or 4 before it switches. Volume is the same, I'll try to turn the volume up, nothing happens, I press volume up more and then it will suddenly shoot up. Carplay is also very slow, I'll press an app and then wait for it to open. This is with a 7+ so I know it's not my phone slowing things down.
  2. I know this is an extremely old post but I figured I'd ask here rather than starting a brand new repeat thread. Does the auto eq on the pioneers care if a micro-bypass is wired or not? I'm about to install a 4200NEX and I'm wondering if I should wire in the bypass first or try the autoeq first and then add the bypass.
  3. I'm upgrading from a pioneer 4400BT to a 4200NEX and currently have an aswc steering wheel control unit connected. I'm wondering if it will work without needing to reprogram it when I wire it into the 4200NEX harness? I already checked and the 2 do not have the same wiring harness so I'll need to disconnect the aswc and rewire it.
  4. New forum member here, just to clarify: despite the directions telling you to use USB1 a standard SD card inserted into the front of the unit can be used to update as well? So if the unit is installed there's no need to uninstall it from the dash before updating?
  5. Brand new to the forum and to newer pioneer units. I have an AVH4400BT right now that I bought used and have never seen or needed any type of password. I just ordered a 4200nex and should be getting it in a couple days. I've seen a few threads here about passwords and recovery, does pioneer make you input a password when it first boots up? What am I missing and what do I need to know?
