    930 or 940

Funny about the maps. My old Z1 (which was updated to a Z3 with a new hard drive and software) had my street on the maps. The short period I had the 940, the maps did not show my street. Small item (short street), but I found it rather amusing that the old maps had my street and the new maps didn't. I'm actually looking at functionality with XM, CD and micro SD card. Screen display and more importantly, does anyone know if the basic software is the same? I don't like spending hours installing a radio just to have to pull it out a few times to trouble shoot the problems and then return to t

    930 or 940

I'm returning a 940 due to a defect and was wondering if it would be better to order a 930. I have found one place that still has a few in stock. Anyone out there who has had both and can recommend either way.
  3. Talked with Pioneer, they first had me disconnect the mute wire to the Axxess connector to make sure it was not an Onstar fault. Still does the same thing. Pioneer says most likely it is the headunit and I need to return to Amazon for a refund. So it goes back. (Also had a problem with the WRI-P remote controller for the remote control unit on the steering wheel. But that was found to be the WRI-P so it might also be going back.
  4. Installed the system and the WRI-P and it works, but it also has a bug. I have a GM so I have the retained accessory power circuit (turn key off, but keep doors closed and the accessories remained powered for 10 minutes, believe most vehicles have this today). When I turn off the key and the system goes into the RAP mode, the radio starts scanning stations. This was very consistent. If I unplug the WRI-P from the unit, it no longer scans and just remains at the last station and plays. I have written PAC to see if they have heard of this problem, and if not, I need to send the unit back for re
  5. Installed a 940 yesterday and after running for a about fifteen minutes, the sound will drop and ATT is displayed in place of the time. l pulled the radio and replaced the Axxess GMOS-04 adapter with a new one I had ordered, and it still does the same thing. I have double checked to make sure no wires are being pinched and/or shorted and all wires appear to be ok and not pinched. Is this a radio problem? (Note: This radio replaces a Z1 that had no problem playing. It was replaced due to the CD player not working and the door kept jamming.)
  6. What exactly does the bypass, bypass? I understand it allows for the use of some maping functions while driving, but does it bypass any of the startup screens?
  7. Thinking of replacing my Z1 (convderted to Z3) with a 940. However, reading some reviews online, I have heard some people state the screen is impossible to read when wearing polarized sun glasses. Does anyone have any experience with this. And since i live in a desert, bright sunlight most of the time too. Another question. Has anyone updated from a Z1 - Z3 to a 940? (Replacing the Z1 due to the fact the screen cannot no longer open/close correctly, CD/DVD drive won't always eject (found this out before the screen stopped functioning correctly). So looking for a device I can still use my P
  8. I will, if I go with the X, I might just go with the Z series since I like the larger screen. Still debating....
  9. So, is the 140 bypass the same as the 130 (and possibly the same as the old Z1)?
  10. Anyone know if the WRI-P will work with the 940?
  11. I know it is an old thread, but it would be fantastic for us who need to rebuild. However, these photos are just too large. I'm running a top of the line laptop, but my poor slow (3mb) internet service just cannot handle the photos. Oh well....
  12. I'll agree with all. The new drive works great, shipping was fast, and the overall experience was fantastic. I would recommend this upgrade to all.
  13. As a matter of fact, I have recorded two discs to the hard drive since I removed that one disc. I believe it might have warped due to being in their for a long period in the desert heat. I just tossed it when I pulled it so I can't really say it was warped.
  14. IF possible, please delete. I was able to get the disc out with a small pair of needle nose pliers, hit the reset and all is ok.
  15. Insalled a new updated hard drive today in the Z1. Everything loaded up ok, and everything worked great. Went to load some customer screens and forgot that I had left a DVD in the machine. Pushed the eject button, makes a lot of noise, but no eject of the DVD. Now, the screen won't go up, and the DVD won't eject. Any way to manually eject the DVD? Hopefully, once ejected it might allow the screen to rise and the system to work again.
