How do you modify the factory brackets?

I just paid a certified pioneer installer to install my Avic D2 in my 07 Scion tC, and have a few issues: - The radio door closes, but its a VERY tight fit. It buldges slightly when closed and im afraid that over time this will damage the door. Is this a know problem installing these in the tC? - He claims the steering wheel controls can not be interfaced with the Avic D2. Is this correct? - He did not hook up the Aux input, but I did not specifically ask him to, is this possible? I like to use my MP3 player.
