  1. Just wanted to report that i have success with the east disc and this is what I did: *Downloaded from the link in this thread using firefox 3 on a vista machine *Extracted with what's built in to Vista *Burnt the extracted ISO image at 2.4x via Roxio with verification and on an HP DVD +R Thanks to everyone that had to do with putting this out there!
  2. thanks for the info. I'm a bit dumb and thought that was the display to show that my playlist was set to play on random, not an actual button
  3. I searched and didn't come up with anything, though i wasn't quite sure how to word my search. My issue is that I cannot find a way to make the D3 play all the songs on the ipod on shuffle once I have selected a playlist. The only way I can get it to do it is to unplug the ipod and plug it back in. This isn't the safest thign to do while driving with the ipod in my glovebox. Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution to it?
  4. I have a verizon Razr2 and it works great an auto-connects fine and it even let me do a mass BT transfer of my contacts, which i was lead to believe it wouldn't do. The connectivity is terrible though if I try and use it for BT music. It was bad enough I went out and bought an ipod and ipod cable. I only bought the BT for the music though initially so that had me pretty frustrated. Now that I have the BT and use it for the phone, I love it though.
  5. thanks. I thought the CAN-BUS would get me, but that was only an educated guess. Any recommendations for a decent HU for not alot of bucks? My fiancee is electronically challenged, so it doesn't have to have all teh bells and whistles. I do want preouts though, as we will probably do a small sub.
  6. Hey thanks for the heads up... Wondering if you or anyone else can help me out here... With the D3 + Bluetooth module. Looking to keep as much of the steering wheel buttons in tact as possible... What all do I need to purchase? The AVIC-D3, BTB200... Would I need both of these? http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... 2R_VW.html http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... WI_PS.html Or just the one you referenced in your post. Thanks again guys! I bought ONLY the harness I linked in my post and i retained the stock vol+, vol-, and mute from the steering whe
  7. I just got done installing a D3 in my MKV GTI. There is a wiring harness pioneer makes that is plug and play with NO splicing to the factory harness. Only problem it is not sold in the US for some reason. I bought mine here: http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... o=CARPI221 You can't order form the website though. I contacted their customer service via e-mail and they were very fast to respond and made the process smooth. You'll want a google checkout account if you don't have one though. And you WILL have to cut on that adapter. You will need to cut both of the plastic ada
  8. Since I upgraded to a D3 in my GTI, I have the stock premium 7 HU sitting on my dresser. I just bought my fiancee a Saturn Vue and the stereo is terrible in it. I wanted to see if anyone had any input on wiring up the VW HU in her Saturn. I realize I will probably lose XM due to vehicle specific tuners, and I know mounting it will probably suck. I am more interested on how to get wired up and full functional. Any input at all is appreciated as this would be the most involved install I've done if I can figure out how to get it going. I asked on VWVortex ans SaturnFans, but I figured
  9. So far with me and the V9M it's great for a phone and autoconnects fine, and great as an mp3 player over A2DP, but I can rarely ever get it connected to use it that way. I bought a used 5G iPod and the iPod cable over the weekend.
  10. I didn't need my extensions due to my wiring harness taking care of those signals for me. You can have mine cheap. Actual shipping plus a couple bucks for my trouble. Let me know. More looking to help a guy out than making money from it.
  11. UPDATE: My V9M is working fine for phone calls and my phonebook transferred all in one shot, but I cannot get it to work consistently with A2DP for music. I was trying the transfer the wrong way for contacts initially. Only issue I have for phone capability is that the pauses didn't work right because I have my voicemail set to pause and then auto dial my password. If I can get A2DP to work right, it'd be awsome!
  12. After it disconnects, it never reconnects again. Once I select send vcard via bluetooth then choose the D3 on my BT device list the screen goes back to my contact list, but no transfer occurs. I am pretty sure I am doing it right.
  13. No problem. It's autoconnecting now pretty much every time. I got it registered on the D3 just fine, but I cannot transfer any contacts. As soon as I try it disconnects. I've been playing with the incoming security setting on the phone and it hasn't seemed to make much difference. It wants to only autoconnect as a headset and not the music profile (I forget what its called, A2DP maybe?) I've been scanning ebay for a good deal on a 5G iPod if that tells you what kind of confidence I have in the connections issues working themselves out. The other options I am considering is getting an
  14. I have the new Razr2 V9M (with Verizon) and it's terrible. It works fine once it connects, but it will not auto connect and I often have to completely remove the D3 connection from my phone and add it new to get a connection. It probably takes me an average of 8-10 minutes to get a connection that works. My 2 cents if I had it to do again is that I would forget the $150 for the BT unit, buy a used 5G ipod for $100 and the $20 ipod cable and have some cash left over. Not to mention the 4Gb trans flash card I bought for my phone for the bluetooth music. EDIT: Now that I posted that
