  1. Pioneer website says that there would be a final grace note update for the Z2's in October, can't find it. Last one I have is from the summer of 2013. Garrett if you are reading this maybe you can help me with this. I bought the update to Z3 from you about 5 years ago via a new bigger hard drive. It has worked great but updated maps and grace note would be nice. can this be done without loosing the 300 albums I have already saved on my hard drive? Or is there a way now that music can be more easily added to the drive than having to put in a Music CD format disc for every album. I will P
  2. Buy a harddrive from Garret Toomey, it will fix your problems.
  3. I bought a new Z3 Preloaded Hard Drive from Garret Toomey and I have no more problems. Plus you get an extra 30GB for your music. Mine does not lock up anymore and does not skip tracks. It was $145 delivered to canada and I had it in 3 days. Do a search for Garret Toomey on this site and you will find his ad. It is easily installed in 5 minutes.
  4. Another satisfied customer here. 5 minutes and it was installed and working flawlessly (and faster)
  5. I purchased a 60GB Z3 upgraded Hard Disc from Garet Toomey and it is working flawlessly on my Z2 unit. The maps are much more recent, the drive seems much faster than the original, and I now have 40GB of storage for my music. The Hard Disk was delivered to my door in Canada in 3 days of paying. The guy was great to deal with. The instructions are very easy to follow and I had my unit swapped out in 5 minutes. The little screwdrive that was shipped with the unit is nice, but I used a bigger handled phillips screwdriver for the 4 phillips screws. They are in there really tight and I found
  6. Mine is freezing up too. The thing was made in January of 2008, so it's not one of the earlier models. I am really starting to think that this was a $2000 dollar peice of crap. Does anyone have any solutions?
  7. If I may I would like to throw a loop in this one. My AVIC just started doing this as well (Skipping ahead to the next song on the Library). Sometimes it is worse than other times. I do not have any steeringwheel controls or remotes added to my system. Two wire bypass is done and has been working for 6 months now flawlessly. And no changes have been made to my system other than adding albums to my HDD. The Free Space is at 73 Percent. Someone please help!
  8. Did you reset the 3D Learning when you re installed it? It will need to be reset in your new vehicle. It is in the settings.
  9. You are locked out? Your GPS is messed up? or both? If its just your GPS, you just need to go into the options and reset your 3D Learning. I can let you know later the exact path to this setting if thats the problem

  11. There are settings that can be adjusted to compensate for the angle of the unit. It compensates for vehicles like the Chev Silverado that would have it angled towards the driver. I'm not exactly sure where the setting is, but its in there for sure.
  12. Steve, I had my lock out issues corrected last week, and went in and reset the learning stuff like you said. It now works like a charm. You da man!
  13. Just so you guys all know. It was the mute wire that was not properly inserted into the empty slot on the harness.....just as suspected by the brains of this site. The unit has been working great and bypassed for 4 days and running now. No software update was necessary as the unit is one of the newer ones. The following instructions made things much much clearer http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... une+bypass AJ008: I would try checking your connections yourself as per the instructions on this site. And in particular checking the link above. Thanks again guys, you guy
  14. Thanks for the info steve, that actually makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately however, I am locked out of all those options (vehicle moving or stopped). I think the installer did not properly insert that yellow mute wire into the empty slot. He is having it in again tomorrow, and I will be telling him to check again. The truck has been back in the shop 5 times with this install, I still don't have On-star working. And the install was done 6 weeks ago (been back every week since). So hopefully that mute wire will fix the problem, and allow me to do the reset-up. Thanks again.
  15. Sorry, Inferno999 already answered this question. FYI http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... une+bypass
