  1. Well, after 7 months of having the brutal echo issue, it is finally fixed. My pioneer dealer just got in a new update CD for the echo issue that installs proper noise cancelling in the Z1, and so far everything is fantastic!! The Ducati Boy circuit still works well after the update. On the maps front, they know that there is a map "out of date" issue, as with the Z1 they went with TeleAtlas instead of their usual NavTeq map provider, but they said that there will be no update on the maps until at least Q2 in 2007. Oh well, at least the damn echo issue is fixed. Ask your Pioneer
  2. I'm not a wiring guy, so I'll ask this question in the hope that someone else might be able to help out. Can you cut the mic wire and wire a new mic to the existing mic wire, so you use the connector that fits into the Z1? I have solved the echo issue with mine by using electrical tape over the entire mic, but it really kills the sound quality - people say that it sounds like I'm in a tunnel and there are no highs/mids to the voice tone. When I poked one hole in the tape (with a pin) to allow some air to get in to improve sound quality, the echo came back...very frustrating!!! There is no
  3. I am interested in this exact same request...anyone figured out how to keep the audio track info on the bottom of the screen when in Map mode? When a track changes, this exact info is displayed on the bottom of the screen, but disappears before you can even read it...I want to be able to keep it down there, but after going through all of the menus I can't see an option for this...please let us know....
  4. I have been having the same "echo" problem....I sound fine, but the caller hears their own voice echo too much, where it is actually too annoying for anyone to talk to me this way. My mic is on the left pillar, up high, and I recently switched my phone to come out of the right speaker....turning the volume down to a very quiet volume (3 bars) seems to make things more tolerable for the caller - I am going to try some foam or even tape up the side holes on the mic - see if that makes it more uni-directional. As well, I use my Blackberry 7250 paired with the Z1 perfectly...it really works
  5. Thanks Keithss. I will make note of this and take my SS back to the guy who installed everything for me. As for the echo issue, I'll keep trying out some different things... Ducatiboy - see, it is not your excellent circuit at fault here... ;-) I think he also did not reconnect my rear speakers correctly...I have Bose and with the stock radio if you faded 100% to the rears, you would still get a full spectrum of sound, now with the Z1 installed, when I pan 100% to the rears there is no bass at all....just tinny mids and highs. Any thoughts on this Keithss? Or am I mistaken, was
  6. I got my Z1, BT1, BC1, GEX-P920XM, CD-IB100II, tons of harnesses, adapters and ducatiboy's flashing curcuit etc... installed in my '06 Trailblazer SS yesterday. Everything works great, except the lack of noise cancelling promotes such a bad echo that people on the other end of a phone conversation say that they cannot stand the echo and have to hang up...I have tried adjusting the speaker volume, speaker location, mic location, but it is still awful. It is really too bad, because the integration of the BT with the radio is quite slick...I used to miss calls for not hearing the ringer w
  7. This might be a simple question, but would Canadian vehicles with full time running lights affect this entire flashing process?? In my vehicle, when I turn the car on there are no headlights on, but as soon as I shift into any gear they come on and stay on always....does this do anything to the mod or flashing technique? (I own one of db's circuits, but have not installed it yet)...let me know. Does this change any of the wiring issues??
  8. I am wondering the same thing about using my Blackberry 7250 with the Z1...anyone tried this yet or find any resources that speak to this? I will be getting my entire package (Z1 with iPod, bluetooth, and XM radio modules, and the rear-camera) installed into my 06 Trailblazer SS in the next couple of weeks (Z1 was just released finally in Canada)....PLUS my order for Steve's Z1 headlight-flashing unit...should be a great overall a/v experience. Anything on bluetooth Z1 and blackberry...let me know. Thanks
