nice I think I'll try this method simple and fast too to change that.. cause there isn't any other quicker way to get to specific artists during the artist search rather then to just hold the down arrow with is fkin lame.. been nice if you could have just selected a letter there or had the keypad from the nav part to start typing a artist.. doesn't seem like it would have took that much more to have added those features..

I've had a D3 for a little while now and ordered a 5thgen 80gig ipod video too to use with it. I've been wondering how the video resolution change will effect watching videos from the ipod on the D3 screen. From searching it seems the ipod shows video in 320x240 but can hold video up to 640x480 resolution. The D3 claims the actual video resolution of it's on screen display is 480x234. Wondering what you guys do to make the quality the best for watching it on the D3 from the Ipod. Leaving it at 320x240 may not make that big of a difference from where it's having to go to on the D3... W

I got a refurb 5Gen Ipod for my car to leave in the glovebox for my AVIC-D3. I noticed it seems to be always powered on with it attached to the pioneer ipod cable.. is this bad? Also I was wondering about the temperature that it may encounter being in my car.. cold weather, hot weather etc. Is the Ipod durable enough to just leave plugged up like that and not worry about it failing? Whatever power it's drawing even with the car is off. Is that going to have any effect on my battery of the car? Lots of questions in this post just wanted to throw these out there that are on my

I just got mine in today.. I swear this thing has to be brand new! It's in perfect shape! Btw I'm new to the whole ipod scene and all.. I see there are firmware/software updates available fro mine.. Is all the firmware updates for the 5gen fine and won't effect video playback on the Avic-D3?

I've seen the Acura Navigation Loading screen.. it's about like the Nissan one but can't find the image itself anywhere. Just got my Avic-D3 installed tonight! much appreciated! :o

off topic kinda sorry, I figured you'd know best I just left my car a little while ago to get the AVIC-D3 installed in a RSX. What things do you think are a NEED TO CHECK whenever I go to pick it up? Thanks for any advice.

I understand the file resolution and the file format.. is there a limit to file size?

I keep hearing talk of gen5 and gen5.5.. aren't they they same thing? People say there is only Gen5 and Gen6.. so is like 5.5 just a Gen5 with higher firmware updates? The actual hardware is the same correct?

I bought a refurbished previous gen from Apple 80GB.. should be here this week. Looks like they are out of stock currently though.

looks like if I want the functions of the AVIC-D3 to fully work with the ipod.. I'll just be buying their 80gig refurb for $189.. guess it ain't bad.. just I would have payed $250 to have got the new gen had it work properly.. I don't think I'll be carrying around a ipod much anyways. So the interface with coverflow doesn't really matter.

don't you have to do some unplugging and plugging back up for it to work with video.. was a random post I recall seeing when on the 1.0.2 firmware. Seems like running that version of firmware still had problems will random videos from what I see.. it's like hit or miss.
