  1. Hello - I recently moved from a Blackberry 8330 to an 8530 and have not been able to copy contacts / address book info over to my D3. Interestingly, I have an Itronic (Mobridge) bluetooth / ipod player in another vehicle and everything copies perfectly. I've tried, disconnecting and using the "Transfer Contacts" function to map the connection and copy over the contacts... and a number of other attempts, but no luck. I get the Unable to locate Object Push Server error... which makes sense as it's not one of the services listed under the D3 profile. Any thoughts / assistance would b
  2. I've searched the forum multiple times /ways and, although I found many posts that indicate downgrading the firmware to a prior version will enable video played via the ipod, was wondering if a composite cable with a new ipod classic (without messing with the firmware) would work as well. Trying to remember the back of the D3... Thoughts? Thanks in advance and happy holidays - David
  3. I apologize in advance if this has been posted, but couldn't find anywhere. I have the N4 and in the map mode, the zoom in (+) and zoom out (-) buttons are blank. The symbols are there on my D3 but, again, there are no symbols on those buttons. Functionally, they work fine. Any thoughts? Did I miss something in setting up the unit? Thanks in advance.
  4. I have the TERK XM set up for my AVIC, which "died" a few days ago. After doing some trouble shooting, I noticed that the fuse tube had come apart. I can't locate the fuse (suspect it's somewhere behind my dash. Q1 - Does anyone know what fuse will work, to put back in the tube? Q2 - Has this happened to anyone else? I could have had some pressure on the tube which eventually pulled it apart. Thanks in advance.
  5. Not an expert by any means, but have done 2 Ford installs - a D3 install on an Aviator and just finished an N4 install on a Blackwood. Both times, the grey/black was in one of the main wiring harnesses that pluged into the factory radio. Yes, the reverse/taillight (blk/pnk) and parking brake (l.grn / red) wires (for the lincoln) can be reached through the kick panel. Hope this helps. David
  6. I recently did the install of the N4 and BTB 200. It took a while to pair my treo700p but it did/does work. I reset the system (per the instructions) after the installation and connection to the N4. Here's my question (might be stupid)... The BT receives incoming calls fine. When I go to make one off of the BT address book, it defers to my treo for the outbound. In other words, I have to pick up my phone to hear the conversation. Is that a limitation of my phone or a configuration (BT? treo?) issue? Any assistance would be appreciated.
  7. Thanks for the info. I just didn't want a "glowing ember" sitting inside my dashboard... It sounds like the resistors won't really get hot and I'll be ok with either. David
  8. One more question - RadioShack has a 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt 3.3k ohm resistor. Which do I need.. or does it matter? Thanks
  9. I did a search (my bad, should have done prior to posting) and found that folks are inserting a 3k ohm or 3.3k ohm resistor inline on the blue/white connector for the Ford harnesses. Anyone know of how much heat the resistor will generate? Hopefully, very little. Thanks in advance
  10. I'm in the process of finishing an install of an N4 in a Lincoln Blackwood - which has a factory subwoofer. Everything seems to be working ok with this exception: On vehicle startup the subwoofer makes a sharp popping sound. I've connected the blue / whites on the adapter cables and the red RCA cable to the subwoofer RCA cable (apparently it doesn't matter if it connects to the white or red). I've contacted Crutchfield and they indicated it has to do with the Ford stereo being 5V and the N4 being 12. They suggested I go to RadioShack and get a step down converter and splice inline
  11. Received my N4 yesterday and am doing the install this weekend. Can someone confirm that moving the yellow/black (guide on) wire to the upper (second from left) slot as shown in the picture will NOT impact the BTB muting the radio functionality nor impact the steering wheel functionality. As an aside, a year ago I did a D3 install on an Aviator, did the bypass with the mute wire (worked great) but never could get the SWI to work. Thanks in advance.
