  1. I had this unit in my 2006 F150, and will be trading it in for an 2005 Excursion due to family additions. So I obviously want to transfer my Z1 into my Excursion...So I guess I need to know what dash kit to get and wire harness adaptor, and maybe some info on how to find the VSS wire etc. Also will this unit still work with my factory overhead dvd player? if so will this all be converted simply by plugging into the old wire harness? Or will any of that need changing? Also I bought one of Ducati boys bypass kits a couple yrs ago to install on the F150 to keep from having to flash my lights
  2. sometimes on startup my bro says his unit will flash and blink, but wont come right on, he says he has to turn the car off then start it back up then it works...? What are some possible solutions?
  3. I installed the Avic Z1 in my F150 w/the help of my f150 site very easy, i also installed my bro's N2 w, the ipod adaptor also easy, just follow the basic directions... -buy adaptor harness and install kit, metra install kit(Circuit City/BestBuy), and metra or scosche wire harness will work, scosche can be found at Wal-Mart for almost $10 cheaper than BestBuy,Circuit City etc for the harness...Pick up some wire connectors wire strippers/crimpers and some electrical tape too while your at Wal-Mart -connect your yellow(power), red(switched 12v), black(ground), and orange/white(illumina
  4. hey guys could you please tell me how you did the bypass, i just installed one in my bro's 2000 Accord, and everything works fine, i tried a bypass i bought off ebay, it ties into the Red and black, then it splits the parking brake wire, and the speed sensor(vss) wire...and thats it..., works fine and shows the PB is on, but after a few minutes, if your going over like 5mph then screen pops up with that screen, and only lets you hear the dvd, but if you go back under 5mph, the picture comes back on???....Please help, i could always undo this bypass and do another if there is a better please he

  8. you guys that are having good luck where did you mount your mics at? are there many options? i was going to run mine up the a-pillar to the driver sunvisor?....only place i could think of?....
  9. thanks for the replys guys, glad to know this wont be an issue...
  10. Will i have to turn to off position before startup, then flick lights on, off, to bypass, then allow unit to load up, then switch over to auto?..i also read a post somewhere on programing something that would take care of this when started, but to avoid additional wiring, i dont drive this truck everyday, and wouldnt mind switching the lights over after its loaded....im going for install today, wish me luck....Thanks, Clay
