As a teen myself, i perviously owned a d3 and it was an ok unit. First off, the navigation system was by far the worst thing Ive ever experienced. For example, when you are searching for a POI you can not sort by distance, there is no Text-To-Speech, and the avic has the dumbest routing logic and it will take you far and beyond just to get you some place close. Also having to deal with the nav disk bothered me. On the other hand, the avic was flawless in every other department. The on screen ipod function is much safer than using the ipod simply because it is bigger on the touch screen dis

Correct me if I'm wrong but this unit has MSN direct? If so, how is this feature?

look guys! people have different preferences, what you like might not be what he like. in this case if this guy does not want to get the unit because of that lacking feature its his choice, its not wrong, nor is it stupid.

If you like modding software then the F-series is for you, even though its buggy, if you customize it to fit your needs im sure some of that will fade away. i was also considering the 8120 but it was out of my price range because im a student too (Go UAB Blazers!!)!! ...and one more thing

yes, everybody is different. i suggest that you go to BB or a local shop and play around with them. coming from a D3 im 110% more happier with my DNX5120 and for the bypass you just ground the green parking brake!

Well I can understand the ordering part, that's just to much to keep up with at a show. But I think their release dates are accurate because their other new models are out plus the new firmware update is to.

you know when i was deciding on the dnx5120 i said the same thing about the UI but when i seen it in person it was a world of a difference. the maps are kind of kiddy to me but they are pretty detailed and the navigation is perfect.
