  1. don't know about the mute thing, but as for the camera, it is a "source" so once you switch to it, it stays on. i guess it assumes you are still wanting to watch it. to toggle it off, just turn the display off and back on, it will no longer show the reverse image.
  2. incorrect. it needs to sense ground by either putting on the brake, a relay, or a switch inline to ground.
  3. yes, sounds like that will be all you have to do.
  4. 1. depends on how you want it to function. the 4000 has the ability to view the camera anytime. i hooked mine the switched power of the hu its self, so i can switch to the camera anytime. 2. the reverse wire on the deck is the sense wire to tell the deck you went into "R". connect a wire to it that shows a voltage when you are in reverse. the easiest way to do it is to connect to the + at the reverrse bulb in the back. 3. the usb connector on the head unit is the usb audio input. its not for the camera. the camera input is the brown rca plug. plug in your standard rca cable to the brow

    AVH-P4000 Question

i have a sandisk 8gb flash drive, works great. there may not be enough power for the bus powered hdd based usb drives. sometime those are picky on a pc.
  6. i did exactly what saleengt2001 posted. works great.
  7. i got an email from pioneer stating pretty much that they dont know why it does it either. anyone with a usb hu have this problem? maybe i will try to reformat it and add each folder one at a time in order.
  8. just installed the p4000dvd, and got an 8gb usb flash drive for music. i assume that most pioneer products use the same system for compressed audio on usb. my question is the folders are out of order (not alphabetically) when you look at the list view. any one know how are they sorted on the unit? can it be fixed? also, when you are listening on random, when you click next, it goes to the next track in the folder, not the next random track. anyone know how to fix that, its pretty lame, and a huge oversight by pioneer in my opinion.
  9. i just installed this unit. it does do random for all files, but it will only random one type of file at a time, and only audio. so if you have a bunch of wma's and mp3's, it will make a random list out of mp3's and you will have to switch to wma's. i have all mp3's and i have them on a usb flash drive. the cable length is about 5ft.
