  1. I would not. This is the worst piece of electronics I have ever bought. There are still many problems with the unit after the update, i.e. Ipod connectivity doesn't work very well, with constant connection errors. A new problem I encountered has been sound cutting out and needing a reboot. Too many issues to list... but I digress... Sad to say, but this thing drives me bonkers. It should've never left the factory in this condition.
  2. 1. IPOD disconnects each time the unit starts. I've found that the unit will disconnect the ipod if it boots up with the Navigation screen enabled, (i.e. gives the error "ipod communication error" if you had the navigation screen on before you turned off your car). Switch the screen to ipod before you turn off your car, and the ipod won't disconnect/error next time the unit starts. Can someone verify if this is the case for you as well? 2. Map stays in night mode (the black map) when set to automatic, even though the lights are not on. Turning on the car lights will dim the screen, th
  3. Were there any folders (other than the LPUE080 folder) on the card when you put it in the SD slot? I had the exact same problem, formatted the card, and only put the LPUE080 folder on it. Then the unit would read it and the update screen appeared. (I used an SD card, though. Not microSD).
  4. Just updated mine and tested for about 15 minutes. Screen brightness: MUCH Brighter! I can see it now!!!! It was set to 4 after the upgrade. Pushed it to 9 and it's so much brighter than before the update. True test will be driving during the afternoon. I still get screen glare... need to figure out where to buy an anti-glare screen cover now. Touch screen: Response is still sluggish for first 30 secs or so after boot up. Button options on screen are snappier after that... i.e. it actually responds. There's still a delay when I press the Map button, though. Boot-up: Just about th
  5. Darn...Once again... false hopes that I could change the stupid background colors on the unit.
  6. Pardon the segue, but how did you make your ipod screen turn blue? I didn't know you could change the background colors.
  7. hehe.. it would be definitely worth it if you could change the map colors. The Pioneer Daytime colors suck and aren't viewable in the daytime.
  8. Darn Altimas. In addition to the airbag light, I also had the driver side window auto-up issue after disconnecting my battery. Luckily the Internet came to the rescue. It seems like you have to run a cheat code each time you unplug something... Next up: Headlights don't work. Fix: Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A B A Start.
  9. What color scheme are you using for the nav? I didn't know it was possible to get a green background on the map.
  10. I agree. That manual is just as bad as the product.
  11. mine's weird. it understands 'change source to {whatever}' and can do the dial pad but the 'play artist {whatever}' and phone calls are just awful. Same here. "Change Source to ..." works. "Call " works. "Play " works. But "Call " doesn't. Oh... and no GPS Voice recognition. So you can't tell it to "take me to sexy mama". Sadness....
  12. How do you turn the icons on? I don't even see any icons on my screen.
  13. I believe it's: Settings -> System Settings -> Language -> Change the voice language to "Samantha TTS".
  14. Ok... this one was bugging me for awhile, and I finally figured it out today. I saw some questions about it, but no answers/resolutions. And if it was already answered, then don't flame me. (You guys are really harsh sometimes!) So... here's what you do: 1. Go to the Top Menu -> AV Source -> Select "Off" in the bottom right corner to turn off the music 2. Go to the Top Menu -> Settings (bottom right corner) 3. The "Mute/Input Guide" option should be available now. (First option in the 2nd row) 4. Tap to change between Mute, Att, and Normal Mute pauses your music, Att wil
  15. hehe... you'll get those communication errors eventually. I thought I was immune, and then.. BAM! Attack of the "ipod communication error". But it seems related to the VR function. My ipod was working during bootup, started cataloguing the ipod for VR functionality, and then it errored and took the ipod away. But anyways, that was just a comment. So don't flame me. Are you able to see the map screen clearly in the daytime? I had the map color scheme set to daytime red/daytime blue, and the screen was very difficult to see. I had to switch it to nighttime color scheme to see it.
