  1. Well, the only thing I can suggest is to check the blue / white wire that sends the power on signal to the sub amp. Also, it was working fine until you opened it up - perhaps something got loose. As a last resort, undo the bypass and see if it changes anything, though I don't think it was the bypass itself.
  2. Well, I took the offer from Al & Eds and got a Kenwood ddx812/gna510G package and I'm very pleased. It has a larger screen - the resolution spec is not quite the avic-f, but I really don't think it makes a difference. The screen is bright and I like the cool motorized tilt. The Garmin nav is great. I am used to Garmin as I had a portable unit before. I was concerned that I should have gone for a dnx8120, which has the nav built in, but installing it was easy and it's small enough to find a good spot. Hey, it's almost July. Who knows when Pioneer will get it together. The Kenwood ev
  3. I'm getting the kenwood ddx812/gna510 combo tomorrow. It's basically the same as the 8120 but with outboard nav module. The one most frustrating thing for me was getting audio dropouts while playing a cd and navigating at the same time. The dropouts were definitely happening while the nav was updating. This to me was unacceptable.
  4. I decided to return my 90BT and go for the Kenwood. Al & Ed's has been very accomodating about the problems with the 90BT. They emailed package prices for AVIC411 and I ordered the Kenwood DDX812 / GNA510 combo. It's basically the same as the 8120 but with outboard Nav. I should be getting it tomorrow and have it installed this weekend. Cheers!
  5. SI, I respectfully disagree with you. I appreciate the humor but Pioneer should have put enough RAM in the unit to begin with.
  6. Ok, I am really getting annoyed with this unit (AVIC-F90BT). Pioneer rushed this out of the gate to take advantage of the summer. I bought one to enjoy this summer. The bottom line: This thing is Crap. My main complaint is the audio dropouts while navigating. At first I thought I had a loose connection. But after checking and resoldering, I realize that it mainly happens when the GPS is running. I thought the whole idea of this "improved" AVIC was that you don't have to tie up the CD slot with a nav disk. Well, if you can't listen to music while navigating it pretty much misses th
  7. I'm getting audio dropouts when I play cds when the car is moving. It's almost like when a computer is too busy multitasking, possibly when the nav is updating. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's very annoying.
  8. Hi - I did the bypass on the F90BT. I get a warning screen I have to OK before it works. Is this correct? Anyway to get rid of this screen? Helpful tip for moving the mute wire: Lift the little plastic flap holding the pin with the tip of a knife or small screwdriver. Then you can gently remove the wire and pin connector. When relocating it to the bottom row position 4, turn the pin around (upside down) so that it can properly engage the little plastic flap. Hope this helps!
  9. Please add my name to the list of prospective F90BT buyers!
