  1. I called Pioneer Tech Support and they simply said: "Apple has changed their firmware so we no longer support charging from the Unit (mine is a 900BT)" I am totally POed at this answer!! I tried plugging the phone before turning the unit ON but it didn't change anything for me. It does not recharge anymore... Come on, someone must have a solution to this real stupid problem! The Pioneer guy is claiming nothing they can do on their end... Hard to believe but Oh well.. I may just have a 900BT for sale very soon. I have to be able to recharge my phone while in the car and still
  2. I have the same problem but running a 3GS with 3.0 Any clues? Anybody?
  3. Used to do Windows stuff back in the days... Looks like you're taping into "resources" that are "linked" to the executable. I remember a resource editor was available back then... It was giving you the ability to edit them (adding, modifying,..) without changing the executable portion of the .exe (This is all Windows 95 stuff I vaguely remember but figured I would mention it here.) ("resources" are basically Bitmap, text files, binaries or any sort that the executable needs and rather than having them into separate files, they "attached" to the .exe) Hope this help someone more kn
  4. Guess what? Upgrading the iPhone to 2.0 may have solved my problem... I think... I mean, it worked well a couple times now (also the new FW) but before upgrading to 2.0, the new FW what rebooting all the time... I also unpair/pair again in the process so I don't know for sure what hapened but I believe I can use BT now! Bizarre!!!
  5. OK, I had to try the pair/un-pair again. I also updated my iPhone to 2.0 in the process, so I'm not sure what happened but BT seems to be working well now... Go figure...
  6. Same problem here. My phone doesn't stay connected more than 5 min. It keeps connect/disconnect. I tried unpair/pair again. To no avail. I even got a windows Error message about the "tel" application crashing and then no more connectivity. This unit is a real POS. I'm stuck with it now as I passed the 30 days return. What to do? I think I will call Pioneer and get a cse number this time... I'm totally POed over this!
  7. Phone keeps connecting/disconnecting When connected, quality did not improve a bit Response time to touch of buttons is still terrible! (did 2 steps update all the way and reset a few times)
  8. OK, so I tried disabling the Echo Cancellation and it didn't improve the quality. I know the Microphone is not the problem as the unit perfectly understands voice commands. I tried placing my phone un the cubby just under the unit (instead of my left pocket), it doesn't help either. FWIF my Bluetooth Revision shows: HW100-SW290
  9. Aaaah, interesting. One would think that Echo Cancellation is required but if it's not done properly, it could screw it up big time. I'll try this and post my findings... I couldn't get to try more phones yet, so stay tuned on my 1st idea. Also, does the position of the phone relative to the head-unit could make a difference?
  10. So I'm reading from some: Bluetooth is great, works perfect, love it! And some others are saying (like me): It doesn't work at all! POS! Well, I'm still wondering if it's the unit or the phone. I've decided to go try a few different phones later today. I'll keep you posted. (Mine is an iPhone 1.1.2) did anybody try this?
  11. F-series model: F900-BT Phone make/model: iPhone 1.1.3 firmware Ease of connection: Easy Phone book transfer: Can't figure it out, some say it's not possible Sound quality: unfortunately UNUSABLE! Comments: Hope they can fix this quickly!
  12. Just spoke to the support team in Long Beach as well... They basically said: "For transparency, Pioneer is acknowledging all the problems with this unit and the Engineering Team in Japan is working on a firmware fix. It includes BT quality, boot time, Touchscreen responsiveness, iPod integration, Automatic time accuracy"... To the question: Should I expect Firmware only or will I have to send the unit back, he replied :"... Absolutely firmware only..." No ETA, he just recommended to register my unit to the pioneer website and check "Receive e-mail updates"... FWIW...
  13. Read the installation manual. It clearly states that you need to split the antenna so both your HU and your HD gets a signal. The HU signal is required for MSN Direct to work.
  14. I used the needle in my "sewing kit" to lift the white plastic tab that prevents the wire from going out when pulling on it. Then lift it again on the new position to help it go through... Hope this help...
  15. Maybe a stupid question here but I can't seem to find a way to disable the internal amps. I'm using the F900BT with an external 5ch amp. I left all the speaker wires unconnected but it didn't feel right? Or? Is there an auto-detect feature?
