  1. Great idea. I didn’t try that but I don’t need the USB port. I may actually give it a try next time I have the stereo out in a few weeks. I have to remove the entire dash to replace a blend motor.
  2. FYI I pushed ADS to engage the engineer who wrote the firmware. He said that no matter what they do, they will always dispaly the "No Paired Phones Found" dialog when Bluetooth is activated on the headunit IF no phones are paired to SYNC (doesnt matter about the internal Pioneer headunit having any or not). The only two choices are 1. Leave a cheapo piece of crap phone in your glove box hooked up to a constant USB charger that is paired to SYNC. No service needed, etc. iPod, whatever... 2. Disconnect the SYNC module I chose #2. It's quick/easy to disconnect and reconnect.
  3. I am working with ADS (iDataLink Maestro people) on this. The root cause is that no phone is paired to Ford SYNC (duh) and even though one is paired to Pioneer AVH-4200NEX and the Maestro has SYNC fully disabled, it is still displaying that data on the headunit. Is it 100% erroneous? YES. Can you ignore it and be fine? YES. Is it annoying to me? YES!
  4. Here's a pic of the error. What I just did tonight at like 11pm pacific, is re-applied v1.05 -> v1.05 firmware. Then did a factory reset of all options. Then i deleted AVH-4200NEX from my iPhone bluetooth. I then paired it on the headunit and it seemed OK. I powered everything off for 15 seconds, powered it on and let it connect. no error screen. I'll test again tomorrow morning. :EDIT for 4/17 9am: Same issue this morning. I tried my iPad Mini connected to it. Same issue with that too. I called Pioneer (second time on this issue) and got a new tech. He shared the same th
  5. Latest 1.05 firmware iPhone 7 Plus iOS 10.3.1 Bluetooth paired. Headunit powers on. Bluetooth music plays. I see the artist and song data on the headunit. Maybe 20 seconds later a pop up saying "No paired phones found" appears for 5-10 seconds and then disappears. Bluetooth phone calls work fine too. Any ideas on that? Only 1 week old. Could get crutchfield to replace but not sure it's truly defective unit or what.
  6. I had the AVIC-Z140BH on my car last year. I thought the Nav sucked, I rarely used it. I didnt use the app mode on there either... It did have 3 pre-outs at 4V which seems nice. I have AppRadio 3 SPH-DA110 on my new tacoma and I love it so far. Waze on my iPhone5 works great for my nav. Sure there are tiny bugs for it, but it works well. I cant speak for Android, but I would say I am much happier than with my Z140BH.
  7. It was a bad harness for the ASWC-1. I swapped the harness out and it works perfectly.
  8. I cannot get my ASWC-1 to properly work with my AppRadio3 yet. I've swapped ASWC-1 to a new one and same problem. Hangup/Pickup of phone always works. Mode pulls up the phone menu. Track/seek up/down only works on the Radio, not BT or Pandora, etc. And volume never works. I called Pioneer, confirmed no control in AR3 to customize. They said check with Metra that they can say with absolute certainty that the ASWC-1 has been tested with the AR3. Perhaps it hasn't. Said perhaps switch to PAC? I will check more.
  9. I have a 140 in my audi and i had a z3 (originally z1) in there before. Night and day difference. Everyone says its real clear. I have a 2013 tacoma as well and factory BT on that people say is even better. But the truck is quieter than my audi, so ya... anyhow, I would say it is lights and bounds ahead of the old z3.
  10. Watch the videos on YouTube. They show you lifting that little plastic riser on the connector itself. don't expect the pin to just easily pull out after you did that (mine did not). I pry'd and I pry'd on that and started actually mashing it. I used a dental pic kit I got at Harbor Freight so it was working well. Ultimately at the end I lifted one side of the bar higher than the other with the pic then just pulled pretty dang hard. It came out. In a video I saw a guy using some force on his too and it came out. It went in fine after that in the other hole.

I thought that going from 2006 to 2012, the Z140BH should be tons better than the Z1, but it isn't in many aspects, which is so surprising (to me). Still, I have the 140BH and it works. Hmm.
  12. I upgraded from an Pioneer AVIC-Z3 (actually a Z1 that was upgraded to Z2 then Z3) to the AVIC-Z140BH and I have some gripes. Amazing that my 2006 NAV unit I think has some things it does better than the 2012 one. How is this possible? I have yet to really play a ton with the 140, so maybe I am wrong, but we'll see. 1. No mute button for the nav voice (the woman) on the main navigation screen. On my Z3 I could tap it with one finger and she would shut up, or turn her on. Now I have to go to Volume settings, then Mute/Un-mute her. 2. Cannot pick lots of detailed POI to display on
  13. I bought mine yesterday off Amazon for $989 with free shipping. Not a Pioneer Authorized dealer, but they have 1700+ positive feedback on Amazon recently and they offer a 1 year warranty. They said their distributor is authorized, and they have an agreement with them, so IF i have issues (I dont expect to, neve have in the past) it goes from me to them, to their distributor to pioneer for repair, then back to me. We'll see....
  14. If only Pioneer would allow another user to get an activation key from their site. Then everyone would simply just download the .ISO of the DVD and burn their own copy. Too bad your media is useless to anyone other than you. This is the reason that people like Garret sell pre-imaged hard disks with the update on it. no activation key is needed in this scenario as the drive is already updated.
