  1. Doesn't help if I'm looking for something in a city three hours away. Let's say I know the name of the restaurant I want to go to in Austin, but I'm in Dallas. I can't just go to POI, set location to Austin, and then search for the name. The only way I've figured out how to do it is to set my destination to the city center of Austin which will place a cursor there, then do a search near the cursor for the restaurant name. This is very annoying to have to do. Most modern GPS's have this feature.
  2. So many other posts were so informal that it didn't look like anyone was really following the format. Model: AVIC-F900BT Devices Connected (XM, iPod, etc) : 4GB USB Flash Device AV Source (if playing) during issue: Multiple Action that caused the issue (pressed button, search, etc): Multiple Was GPS routing? (yes/no) yes and no Was BlueTooth active? If yes, what device? No Anything else you would like to add: 1) All of my "beeps" and menu noises, including voice (TTS), etc. are very staticy sounding. Music sounds perfectly fine, but anything produced by the unit itself has a dist
  3. I'll have to try that, but that seems kind of odd. Any other device I've ever used that had shuffle would actually...shuffle... even if you hit next track. Next track should abide by the random behavior mode I specified by selecting Shuffle All and not change to a folder repeat mode which I didn't select.
  4. All of my "beeps" and menu noises, including voice (TTS), etc. are very staticy sounding. Music sounds perfectly fine, but anything produced by the unit itself has a distinct static to it. If I turn down my volume to 0 I can hear a slight hiss. I have rewired everything and am fairly certain it's the unit doing this as I've also read of others having the issue.
  5. I put mine under my dash above the glovebox and almost all the GPS signals are green.
  6. I had it playing a disc with MP3's and chose Shuffle All. It began shuffling, but when I skipped a song it then got stuck in a folder of an album. Every time I hit next track it stayed in that folder instead of shuffling from the disc. On screen it still showed Disc Random. If I tried to hit Shuffle All again nothing would happen.
  7. Call me crazy, but is there not a way to do: POI's Search Enter "Target" Enter city "Austin, TX" Hit Searchand have it come up with a list of Targets in Austin? It seems I have to put a destination as austin so that I have a cursor and then search for a target. I can search for things along my route (but wait, I don't have a route since my destination is the target in austin) or near my destination (but wait again, my destination is what I'm trying to find). It seems like a lot of work to find something this way? Is there something I'm missing?
  8. Just curious, but I haven't heard any mention of whether or not this involved having the speed sensor wire attached. I'm guessing that this works even with that hooked up?
