  1. Can you point me to the post referring to the relay'd wiring harness? I know for fact that the headlights housings I bought do not use any relay system, and rely on power from the stock wiring harness. I know that the Retro Solutions wiring COULD have a relay put in place, but did not come with one and are currently powered from the stock power source. I did at one point try rewiring the ground directly to the chassis, but did not see any difference in the behavior. I would be *extremely* interested in a wiring harness that has a built in relay and then takes actual power source from
  2. Hmm I'm going to have to try the waiting-for-2-seconds thing and see if that helps. I'm pretty hesitant to go in there and install an inline capacitor without really knowing what I'm doing. Any electrical experts want to chime in on this? (btw, changing the battery should have almost zero impact.. the issue is almost certainly not an overall power problem but rather a momentary spike (or drop)).
  3. Ok... Got a strange one here. I've got an Audi A3 that came with factory Halogen headlights. I installed my Z110BT with the Connect2 wiring harness kit (smaller than the PAC one, simpler) and it was working great. I just recently installed aftermarket HIDs in the car, and now I've got a very strange issue... If the Z110BT is started up already, and I turn on my headlights.. about 70% of the time the audio will cut out! Now i'm not saying ALL audio cuts out -- but rather, just the audio source dies. iPod, HD Radio, CD ... doesn't matter. I can switch sources and hear all the menu/interface
  4. Anyone have time to call Pioneer and ask whats up? I get the feeling that someone at the factory programmed in some wrong-#...
  5. So far I've had no real luck with it... even with the antenna up, I occasionally (very rarely) get 2 bars of signal, and yet still no actual data. I live in Redwood City and commute to Mountain View every day, which is right in the 'gray area' of the Bay Area's coverage map. Yet, it gets signal once in a while but still no real data. THank god for a 3 month free trial... I miss NavTraffic...
  6. Sorry, the F90BT unit connected by bluetooth to my iPhone (first gen, 2.0 software) using the 'GOOG-411' icon in the Phone screen.
  7. It seems like wheenver I hit GOOG-411, the unit dials some 425 #. It's Goog 411, but it seems like the wrong area code. Anyone else see anything like this?
  8. Well I have that ... but that means that the antenna is up all the time, which I'll have otl ive with I guess. I guess though I'm wondering if MSN Direct is 'listening' when you're on XM or IPOD instead of FM?
  9. So I've been trying to figure out why MSN direct doesnt seem to work for me and I figured at least one thing out... my car has a power antenna that I leave down when I'm not in FM/AM radio mode. That kills the signal completely for MSN Direct, and it gets nothing. Actually pretty frustrating since I think my car looks funny when the antenna is up (rx7 converible).. Ok, so assuming I set the Antenna to be up all the time, it seems like I dont get 'MSN' signal unless I'm tuned into the FM/AM tuner. I may be wrong on this though, so I wanted to see if anyone else has done testing on this?
