  1. You know, I ordered mine before I came across this site. I started reading the horrors, and then started looking for a different one before I canceled my F. But for some reason, after checking them all out and playing with the demos in the stores, I just didn't like them. I like Pioneer. Its like that girlfriend that pisses you off, but you love her anyway. I would rather get an F and hope the new firmware comes out, than "settle" for another. I will just wait it out.
  2. How can you find out what the HU "likes" in terms of mic specs?
  3. Have you called back to tell them the update was ineffectual? They may interpret no feedback as good feedback...
  4. If it were a quick fix, they'd have been done a month ago. I'm not software writer, but I don't think it's easy to re-write and fix bugs when most of the components are sub-contracted out to other manufacturers. In my line of work, fixing stuff is easy. Its the troubleshooting and finding out exactly what causes the problems thats a pain in the @ss. I'm not making excuses for them, just pointing out reality.
  5. Possible, but not effective. It wouldn't be able to receive both signals at once. A sync gate would have to switch between the two as needed, interupting one signal for the other. But, like Skicrave said, you can combine the two into one housing. As long as the two circuitries are magnetically insulated together.
  6. They're affixed using magnets. Their proximity brings them within each other's magnetic field. Inside the casing, the antenna is sitting on a "rubberish" pad (I say rubberish because I don't know exactly what it's made of). The pad protects it's circuits from it's own magnets, and probably doubles as a shock mount. Though only weighing a few grams, there's not that much shock to absorb. When side by side touching, it may not have that much effect. But a small gap may "leak" magnetic field up over the top, hindering an antenna's effectiveness. A GPS antenna uses a constant signal to triangula
  7. I've been dealing with a very slow sales staff for two weeks. (and yes it is their fault. It took the whole two weeks to get a tracking number email from them!) My F700 is finally expected to be here Friday. It would be kinda comical if I had the update before the unit. Hopefully I can have it up and running before my trip...Saturday.
  8. Mine is still on its way. Maybe I'll be as lucky. Perhaps some made it through without too many bugs.
  9. Would an anti-glare film hinder the "touch" of the screen? Could be an inexpensive quick fix.
