  1. Head Unit

    Pandora

Pandora works through my 900 using my Droid. Droid - run app - headphone out > 900 front panel AV in (assign input via AVIC settings. The fidelity is a little disappointing, but it works fine and sounds pretty good.
  2. Bummer...sorry bro...jerks!
  3. +1 black screen, also sometimes the nav settings screen appears. In both cases, touching the screen clears it. It is a known bug with the paid-for upgrade but it appears Pioneer has no intention of offering a patch. Pioneer: "Stop complaining! Most of it works!"
  4. Don't know if this is your issue, but every time you load or alter music on your ipod, you need to let the avic run the VR catalog mode. Even if you have 40 GB of music, if you add just one song without refreshing the unit's catalog, it won't recognize music or artists when you say it.
  5. I've got a Droid and after futzing with it, got it to work. As 1loudls said, pair it from the phone. But first, make the phone discoverable while searching from the avic. When the word "droid" appears on the avic, touch this, then take it from there on the phone. Also, once paired, I tried migrating the contacts from the phone to the avic via the button on the avic phone menu. The process failed a couple times. I then turned my car off and went to bed. As happened to someone else here at 411, the next morning, after auto-pairing, a dialogue box appeared out of nowhere on the avic tha
  6. The same thing ended up happening to me, Thanks! A new issue though...don't know if it's related. The volume on my phone seems not to be working right sometimes now. At the highest phone setting the volume is still low. I was wondering if the bluetooth connection somehow took hold in phone...weird.
  7. A lot of people, including me, have had abysmal experiences with Pioneer support. In my case, my queries were completely reasonable, and the responses ranged from moronic denials to insulting lies. Since the F Series were released (with hugely inadequate bug-testing) a couple years ago, this site has been full of anecdotes of frustrating interactions with Pioneer tech support. Just one of the huge number of examples: For many people, their F Series touch screens did not work. This is a basic requirement of a touch screen driven device. Pioneer's official response was (I'm not making thi
  8. I successfully paired my Motorola Droid with the 900BT (3.0 purchased update), but the phone book transfer won't complete. Any suggestions?... FWIW, it's running Android 2.0. Anyone else here successfully transferred contacts from an android phone to an F Series?
  9. Pioneer does NOT back their products. Even if you BOUGHT the 3.0 upgrade, if you call Pioneer their "technicians" will lie to avoid responsibility. Many of us have experienced this. There are a host of other companies out there who know about customer service. Pioneer is the anti-matter to their matter...bizarro world to their normalcy. Those of us with AVIC's must put up with bugs. If you are in a position to buy a new unit though, consider another brand.

  11. Get this: Have had a F900BT for a year and a half > recently bought the 3.0 update from Crutchfield > installation went smoothly > about 5 days later, I started getting bugs mentioned here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=27903 I emailed Pioneer to see if they knew about the bugs and were planning on releasing a fix. In return I got the standard insulting email completely ignoring the details I described, and saying I could return it for $200. I bought the update from a legit vendor a couple weeks ago and followed the directions. I wasn't asking for a refu
  12. Is there a common place to list 3.0 bugs? If not, we should make one. I bought the update card set from Crutchfield. It worked fine on my 900 and made my touch screen finally actually work ok (shouldn't have had to pay for that, but whatever). I've experienced 3 bugs so far. Some people mention others. Mine so far: 1. System boots into Destination Menu. (15 in 3 days) 2. Screen goes black. 3. Ipod dropped frequently (did not have this problem in 2.0). 4. Clock times change inexplicably, then revert back to correct at next boot up. (Added 10/21) 5. Screen calibration won't complet
  13. I've got the same problem on my 900. I did the 3.0 update last week using legit cards purchased from Crutchfield. It worked fine for several days, now it's booting into the Destination screen. And, yes, the buttons are for the most part unresponsive. *Usually a reset has clears if for a bit. *One time it booted right back into the Destination screen. I guess Pioneer got so used to the original F Series being problem-ridden they decided to make bugs a feature customers should pay for. We shouldn't have to keep resetting our head units. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG, PIONEER!
  14. OK, not so much a a newbie. I've had a 900BT for a year and a half. I suffered through the original problems and, like everyone else, visited this site frequently and waited for the 2.0 update. When it came out, I loaded it...it fixed a bunch of the annoyances so I lived with it and over all have been pretty happy with the unit, except for the touch screen, which basically sucks. So I just came home to find a 3.0 upgrade is out and apparently it offers significantly improved touch screen responsiveness. I'm in! The problem is, by looking at past posts I'm trying to sort out and am sti
  15. Watch the video, they are indeed still part of the software Interesting. It just doesn't work for me anymore. I'm clicking the same multifunction button. And the VR Catalog button is no longer to the right of the [Rear SP] button. My first 900 had this issue out of the box. The Pioneer techs said they had never seen this issue. I returned it and they sent me a new one. I'd call Pioneer (though your success will depend on the tech guy you get). Good Luck.
