i have a f900bt installed. Only took about a few hours to do, since we had to rewire the harness for more pins, but i did all my research beforehand. I bought the dealer part just like you mentioned, but i bought it from the dealer since the shipping was free and it was about the same price. 1. It might look the same, or at least very similar, but there are other things to be aware of before swapping them out. First, make sure the molded harnesses are a match and clip together properly. Second, even if they fit, the pin assignments might be completely different. Third, search sites like crutchfield and see if the same harness is sold for both units. 2. yes. Nissan makes an OEM dash kit that matches the color and texture of your dashboard. I ordered mine through the Nissan dealer parts direct. Depending on the type of A/C controls that you have, you'll have to order the correct part. For manual A/C controls, they sell a double-din dash kit which fit snugly around the manual A/C controls. A very BIG thanks to everyone who contributed on getting this out. I can't explain how much I appreciate it. At first, I was a bit skeptical and worried I might brick the NAV with a "hacked" firmware/map upgrade and be unable to explain it to Pioneer if I sent it in for warranty. But after how smooth and easy the process was, I realized my worried were unwarranted. Firmware and maps are updated. 3.0 is a lot better and I feel like the value of the F900 I paid for is slowly starting to redeem itself. there will always be a way to bypass. pioneer wouldn't get rid of it. it's such a big dealbreaker for a lot of users that some people would rather just purchase another brand/unit--myself included.

i think you want to buy the pioneer iPod/iPhone cable. Otherwise you will not be able to control iPhone from the AVIC. If pioneer did try to change the pins, then just try different combinations of the colors. Usually yellow is video, but if Pioneer decides to be jerks, then it could be L (audio) or other. Make sure that your settings on the AVIC AV2 input is correctly configured. I used mine with no problems. It took a little fumbling, but the manual provides directions. Read pages 120 and 143 for detailed instructions.

i'm confused. I've used the front 3.5 mm jack for audio before. I remember having to go into the settings or something to configure it properly. Also, since there's no video being inputted, the screen is blank except for the AV2 icon in the top left with the clock.

couple things: 1. where is your gps antenna located? If it's anywhere near amps, large speakers, then the magnets and other components will undoubtedly disrupt your gps signal. you can try moving it away from these parts and see how it works. 2. the guy above makes a very strong point about the wiring. Unless the wires are shielded very well, you're going to get interference at very high voltages/currents. you can try twisting the wires, but again shielding is your best option, but i don't have any suggestions about wiring vendors that would be suitable for this application.

That's what I thought as well, so I didn't bother connecting the blue wire. Unfortunately, I only received 3 radio stations on both AM and FM. The integrated antenna (in the window) still requires power and after I connected the antenna power, it worked properly.
