  1. I know this has been a topic of the past, where time-released capacitors were used not to keep power to the unit (necessarily) while cranking, but to keep power to the unit for a short time after it's been removed. I have an idea that I wanted to run by you guys before the labor of trying it, although I'm pretty sure it'll work... I attached a quick diagram to help explain, but basically: The red wire of the navigation, which usually is connected directly to the car's acc/run wire, would be cut and wired in series with the normally closed contacts of a SPDT relay. At this point, noth
  2. has anyone come across a code for outside temp? maybe through msndirect? would be cool to have that displayed..opens up options to make an ice warning too..
  3. Empty search results.. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the different codes for the unit? (ex: navigation.has_route is for a visiblemodel of navigation having a route, or sc_btnARM_Itineary_OnRelease would go to the route's itinerary.) For me, this would be extremely helpful because I have enough background to use trial and error to get different buttons around the screen where I want them, but don't know all the specific codes to launch things and make the buttons useful, or to have the unit display different things. Also, is there anyway to use < > symbols in coding (
  4. depending on how many mods you guys have, if you have the codes for the mods already done, cant you just apply those codes to the .zip file attached to this thread? and get the camera mod and re-apply whichever ones u already have?
  5. an early reply since i dont even have the unit hooekd up yet..but in my d1, if i set a destination and reset the unit before reaching there. upon the second restart the message doesnt come up..is that a possible angle worth checking into?
  6. aside from the obvious dash cosmetic work, how much "gutting" was necessary to get the double din to fit into the radio cavity? now that i ordered a f90bt, good ol' d1 may find a new home in my 03 ram 1500..
  7. Hello all, I'm waiting for my f90bt to be delivered and have been reading a lot abt the possible mods to do. Is a 1gb sd card large enough to save and backup the files? Does it matter if its a microsd card inside of an adapter to regular sd?
  8. I understand that most vehicles do not have an uninterrupted run/crank 12v signal for accessories, but my idea was to grab it at the ignition switch harness, where that wire would certainly be present. Other than the question of the radio taking it's main-power current from the ignition-switched wire (which you're saying it doesn't,) there should be no problem tapping into this line to run to the radio (which luckily, the radio and ignition switch harness aren't too far away from each either to run a jumper wire.) With the delay timer samweston already installed, he's already gotten the job
  9. That depends on your particular vehicle, where a factory wiring diagram is needed.. There's probably a wire right at the ignition switch (or base of the steering column) that has the wire since the ignition switch is the source of it. Other than that, the fuel pump would get 12v all the time, as other various engine components. But you'd probably want to use a relay so you don't sacrifice power to the fuel pump if the stereo went a-wire, in which case you'd have to install other hardware as you already have. Perhaps it's a wash and the way you have it now is just as well? But, now
  10. Instead of installing the delay timer, you could've also rewired the stereo: find a wire that has +12V during crank and run (and acc also I guess), and use that as the ign wire to the radio. This way, w/ the key in run, the unit will start to boot, and will not lose power when you begin to crank the engine.
  11. bringing this post back a year later... im having nothing but problems changing background pics on a 70mpt disc. i can use isobuster to open the .iso file and see the folders that are hidden in most other programs, but how do i use isobuster to change and resave the .iso file?
  12. on the d series (should be the same functions in the service menu,) you can also recalibrate the touchscreen. over the course of three years, the screen on my d1 became way out of whack. pioneer wanted $200 to send it in to get fixed, and it took 10 mins to do myself with the service menu. also, if you download or update to a newer map dvd, and for some reason have a problem that you want to go back to the original software that came with the unit, putting in an older disk will give you an error message and nothing will happen (putting in a newer disk automatically starts the system
  13. I have a d1 in my car, and my girlfriend is thinking of getting an n5 in her singledin dash. I came up empty on a search, but remember hearing in the past that since the d series only has one cd/dvd drive, you must load the map dvd in, let it load into memory, and then you can take it out to put in a music cd. If you try to access the map somewhere outside of what it has loaded into memory, you need to swap the cd for the map dvd, and repeat as many times as you access the map outside of the memory. Is this still true for the new n-series? I'm not having so much luck trying to find out
  14. edit to my above post: I've found a program that can see all files as they should appear, and has the ability to save and edit: isoedit. Yet when I make the changes to the iso file and attempt to save it, I get an error message. I can't win!! When I create a dummy iso file, I can save, open and resave the iso file. But when I attempt it with the navigation iso file, I get an error message. Am I missing something simple? Or has pioneer made the 70mpt update un-background image-able?
  15. Using the downloaded 70mpt file for my d1, I've successfully used alcohol120% to make a working copy of the software. The problems all start when trying to modify the disk with background pictures. My first problem has already been mentioned, that using ultraiso and magiciso, certrain files in the bg folder show 0 kb size and there's no subdirectories within the bg folder. As also described previously in the post, using isobuster (and loading the originally download *.mdf file,) you can finally see the files as you'd imagine they would appear. However, as amazing as isobuster sound
