Thanks for your comments, I sent my amp into Alpine for repair and hooked it up last night........works great! But now I have a light whine noise....so searching the forums for solutions. My setup: AVIC-D3 (HU) 6.5' CDT Audio Component Speakers - Front Two 10' Image Dynamics subs in the cab (Tacotunes-subboxes) One Alpine MRP-850 (Mono amp for subs) One Alpine MRP-F250 (4 channel amp bridged-for components)

Need some help here, I installed my D3 and hooked up my Subs and componet speakers and amps. I don't get voice sound only loud bass type sound. Previously I used to have an Alpine HU and on the Alpine you had to turn of the internal amp.....So my question is, does the D3 have an internal amp that I have to turn off.......I tried looking for something like that in the sytem options but could not find it. Thanks.

Does anybody have this setup. Its some kind of surround sound amp and supposed to be only compatible with Alpine head units? I called Crotchfield today and first they said yes then said no. So what do you guys think. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with a Demo bought from BestBuy. To lock or unlock the navigation discs inside the drive, follow the procedures listed below. AVIC-D3: While the unit is turned on, press and hold "MENU" and "Back (Track Left)" buttons simultaneously. Next, push and release reset button. Continue to hold "MENU" and "Back (track left)" until the unit reboots. Then push eject button, NAV disc should eject. Follow same procedures to lock Nav disc. Hope this helps.

Just purchased the - AVIC D3 ($430 @ Best Buy with a 4 yr warranty, it was their last one in stock....they were just trying to get rid of it). It will get installed into a 2006 Toyota Tacoma.
