  1. 1) Does this work on all F series units including the F500? 2) Does this different media player increase the size of the usable filesystem? I'm thinking of portable HDs connected via USB.

    DVD in F500

Anyone with an F500 try plugging in a USB DVD player????
  3. Well sorry everyone it was a mixup. They for some reason still had some non blue dot stock and that is what is going back. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. I think that officially does it for me with Pioneer, I have given up on the F series and am getting a Kenwood DNX-8120.
  4. That would have nothing to do with a recall. When the update comes out, they are going to HAVE to make it available to the end user. I really doubt they are going to make everyone ship their units in to be updated. Besides, they also recalled the initial batch until the update was released, and then sent out the blue dot units. Well I disagree but it is all conjecture at this point. This might not even be true. Let me clarify though, this was ONLY for this distributors new blue dot stock and not end users used equipment.
  5. It is possible especially since no one else has heard anything. I did speak with the warehouse manager though and they aren't just a store but a distributor.
  6. Ok, I was at the stereo shop today discussing returning my f series and they informed me that Pioneer recalled all their blue dot F series units from them and said they will be shipping them updated units. I figure this can mean only one of 2 things. A There is a hardware change B There is a new software load that no longer allows getting into windows mode. Anyone else hear anything?
  7. I was thinking of experimenting with connecting to a carpc from this unit via RDP. The MP3 and video playback of the F series is very limited compared to a carpc but the fit and finish of the F series is a lot better than most carpcs. I was planning on trying to connect via bluetooth or possibly a usb ethernet adapter.
  8. If it is included and is an executable I can't find it. If anyone that has access to the executable from another device that I can try and can post it, I would really appreciate it. TIA, RJ
  9. Does anyone know if the RDP client is available in the CE install?
  10. Thank you. I am a member of the MP3car forums and will pass this info along.
  11. Anyone have and pics of the hardware inside of the new units? Since it is an ARM based CE device with USB support, there may be lots of options for car-pc integration. I was just wondering if this is a fully integrated system or if the components like bluetooth and the tuner are separate and connected via USB or some other interconnect????
