  1. Try putting in a fake road trip that will take you across interstates, then try the custom search
  2. Sorry about the # symbol. I added it to float the Rest Areas to the top of the list, forgot to remove it. Thanks for the help answering! - dan
  3. I created a custom search under the POI icon. On the bottom right you can "Register Search Criteria". Follow the prompts (select "Along Route") and save. Then go back to POI icon and choose "Saved Criteria", and the new search you just saved. That will then show you the items along the rote. Unless I am misunderstanding your comment.
  4. Good luck, let me know if I can help anymore.
  5. Glad it worked for you! The source of the information was from poi-factory.com (search on "rest area", there is a rest area combined file. I started with that file, but tweaked it quite a bit for the Avic. Basically I put it into excel and edited a bunch of the lines to standardize the format and output. The results of the standardized output is what is in the Excel file. According to the poi-factory site, it is up to date as of 8/18/2009, but I am not sure if that means there were just additions of new locations or a few corrections. Basically, it seems this info is contributed by poi
  6. Try creating a custom poi on the unit. I only tested this on Avic 900bt. Let me know if that works.
  7. I was searching the web trying to get a list of all the Rest Areas in the USA, and once I found the list, was debating how to get them onto the Avic F900. After playing with AvicFeeds, I decided it was best to add them to the Custom POI file. After playing around a bit, I decided to create an Excel file that generates the Custom POIs to be added to the POI file in the unit. Here is the Excel file, with Instructions on the first tab of the file and the data in the second tab. The zip file also has the bitmap used in the below pictures. (Instructions for adding the icon are here: http
  8. I used the 2.0 mod on a trip from PA to Chicago, and it was awesome. Great work, thanks! I have a few, hopefully quick, questions. 1) Reading the thread, the only functionality difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is the non muted music, is that right? 2) The speedcamupdates.spud file replaces the existing speedcams from the mod, is that correct? Thanks again! sorry if i missed these answers in the thread. - dan
  9. Thanks, for the quick reply. To correct my previous post, it is a tactile switch, so I am beginning to think it is not the right switch for the job. I'd say normally closed, but let me describe the switch config, since it allows for either way. There are four prongs, A, B, C, D. When in normal position, A and B are closed. When depressed, A and B are open, A and D are closed (not sure about B and C, didn't check cause at that point I stopped checking). So my intention is to connect the power leads to A and B. If the unit hangs, press the switch to cut the connection (hold down if n
  10. I would like to do the same thing and have a mini slide switch. Any idea what the rating for the slide switch needs to be in terms of Volts and amps? - dan
  11. Real quick question on this topic. I want to do the same thing, and picked up a momentary switch from radio shack. The switch is rated at 12v 50mA. Anyone know if the 50mA rating is too low to run the Accessory wire through? I know the answer is to check the Amps on the wire, but i thought i would risk the abuse here in hopes of finding out BEFORE open the dash. Any help is appreciated. - dan
  12. this has been happening to me on and off. I usually can fix it by hitting the function ("FUNC" on the top right from the sirius screen), play with items in there and it resets. - dan
