  1. i've had the same issue and so far no fix..i gave up on the BT and been using my BT headset..never sent it to Pioneer for repair..now it's passed the warranty time which sucks..if you ever find the problems please let us know thanks
  2. i have a blackberry, though a lot of the issues have been fixed regarding connectivity, i'm also experiencing similar problems as you folks with the audio...i can hear callers, but they can't hear me, it happnes out of the blue, randomly, don't think its a hardware issue, though i managed to pull the unit out to check microfone connection in the back it looked fine, the minute i unplugged the mic and plugged it back in, it worked again! so not sure what the issue is now...i can't b doing that...i'm starting to think this unit is not worth it again...
  3. I'VE had this mic problem as well...not sure what happened but i unplugged from the back of the unit (mine i can easily pull out of the dashboard) and replugged, now its been working fine for a few days now, VR though doesn't work well with long numbers...like 411 it will dial no problem...no names work with VR someone said here though that it has to be formatted with no spaces nor dashed i'll try that when i have time and post results..i have a blackberry curve which never worked, now works OK still glitchy but it stays connected and quality is very good
  4. it's two separate downloads...put both on the root of the SD card...watch the youtube video posted on this site, it shows it exactly the way should b done..
  5. That is unique to yours and my guess is it was nothing more then coincidence. I have issues with my ipod disconnecting and unless you unplug it and replug it in it will never find it again. It is so common its definitely some sort of a glitch or bug somewhere and not thanks to dirty contacts. Unless of course the factory that made them was in a rock quarry. i guess it could be a coincidence, i don't know....trust me i'm not happy with this unit....i can list so many annoyances/issues i'd crash the AVIC411 server.. the ipod though hasn't necessarily been an issue, at least for me and
  6. i had a couple of disconnects with my ipod nano i used compressed canned air cleaned up the contacts on the ipod and the cable and haven't had any issues for about 2 mos now...
  7. Wow, that's a heck of a deal....it beats any pricing i can get as a dealer....that's not fair...hehe...i'm gonna start buying from ebay....
  8. i called dealer support services (i'm a delaer ) the guy knows me already since i've been calling the guy for a while now...he said there's no specific release date, he had a unit on his bench loaded with the FW and he said it does boot faster (no comments on how fast) and the bluetooth issue is fixed, more specifically the blackberry issue he didn't want to comment about any other improvements, since some of them are still buggy and they were working on them...i pushed him to give me a ball park timeframe, he said "definetely before thanksgiving....and possibly next week by halloween..." s
  9. a lot of code writing done by these big companies is done by either overseas companies or domestic, either way it's usually one or two people who "know what they're doing" and a bunch of inexperienced programmers usually led by a "team leader" who clearly doesn't take the time to check everyone's work, which is understandable, it takers a looooooong time to look over someone's coding mess, so they put it to the test (normally no more than a a couple of months then is released) the best they can and God knows what their criteria is, but clearly loads of mistakes and bugs are ignored, budget is
  10. i hope they do fix the blackberry issue...i got my first cell phone ticket yesterday because of that stupid thing not working on a business call...i swear to God i nearly pulled the unit out of my dashboard and smashed it to the ground.. i was pissed...spent nearly a G on a unit for its bluetooth and it doesn't work with such a common phone like the blackberry...ludacris...anywhom i'll post the results with the new FW regarding bberry/BT if indeed becomes available, or i will get rid of it next week, not waiting for another ticket...
  11. i did all of the above but still same BS, i do have more than 400 entries should that matter? any of guys that had success have more than 300 entries? pls advise...tks
  12. there're a few aftermarket ipod AV cables...i have some obscure brand and it works fine all its doing is splitting the usb pins from the AV pins, they're all pretty much the same..except some minor differences in quality, shielding, etc...
  13. i personally like the way Stephanie is doing it, i've learned a great deal since i started reading this forum and your guys' instructions...i'm not a computer language programmer but i did learn some programming in engineering school..for anyone who's not familiar enough with the process i'd advise against any mods or attempts to do so for their own sake, it's very easy to mess up and end up with a useless electronics brick...
  14. how exactly do u transfer contacts?? i just got the phone and can't find any options on the phone to transfer contacts!! my bberry was easier anyone to shed some light?
  15. yeah Steph you're right i'd forgotten the other files....oops my bad it works now both of you're guy's files...Tks a lot!
