  1. Just connected the Ipad to my f700bt. Does not charge, nor does the deck recognize the iPad(says iPod did not connect). I don't see pioneer being able to address the charging issue(iPad needs 10w). Maybe a software update will allow the deck to access music and video. If I had a choice I would control everything from the iPad, but the deck would be the logical choice when driving
  2. F-series model: F700BT Phone make/model: Verizon xv6900(HTC TOUCH/VOGUE/xv6900) Ease of connection: Good Phone book transfer: Did not happen Sound quality: unknown Comments: Phone recognized as a pocket pc. when I try to download the phonebook, I get a message saying not telephone number.
  3. You take the maps and poi folders from the My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo\CONTENT\ folder and copy them to igo8\content\ folder on your sd card. this will overwrite the map and poi folders on the sd card, but everything you need will be in there, including the canada files because they exist in the files you are copying. Yes you can do all of this from your computer. As is the case for most things PC, there are many ways to go about doing things. it is faster to do on your computer, but everyone has a different setup for a computer, but only one standard pioneer box. So to make things consiste
  4. I sent my f700bt to pioneer and told them that it was a gift, and I had no receipt and to fix based on date of manufacture. Pioneer cheerfully re loaded the software and sent me the unit back. Turnaround by Pioneer was one day.
  5. More than likely what has happened to me and others can not be fixed by restoring the backup. The flash disk holds certain information, but there is additional memory held on a disk partition that can't be accessed by the end user. If these files go wacko - for whatever reason, then Pioneer has the only fix. So a backup of any kind will not help. I am not one for litigation, but if ever there was acase for a class action suit....
  6. Sending my unit back to Pioneer. Hoping for the best without a reciept. I am going to request warranty work based on date of manufacture
  7. Same exact issue I have been having, posting about for a couple of weeks. I too bought online and Pioneer is of no help. Those that are reading this and have the ability to help, please consider doing so. By help, I mean someone providing a clean backup of their \My Flash folder before any modifications were made. I know that there are good backups out there that belong to members of this board. I know there are some that are in the mindset of "dude, you should have made a backup". Fine, If I was able to make a backup, I would have. But since I didn't do or try any mods, why d
  8. 1. Hit the reset button(don't need to hold it down for any specified time). 2. As soon as you let go, hold both the menu and map keys. 3. Very soon you will see a blue screen with the words "Please press reset key again" -DON'T press the reset key! 4. If you push the menu or map up/down, left/right you will see dots appear on the bottom. After a few combinations, you will see"Pass Key Failed. Retry Again!!" To me this indicates it is waiting for the button sequence to reveal a service menu. I tried a bunch of combos, but was not ablle to get in. Wish I had pictures, but k
  9. This is for a F700BT I am slowly figuring out how to recover from this, as I can now get to the main menu and play songs. I really need some original files to troubleshoot this. Once I have this complete, I should have a way for all to recover. The real issue is the APL2 Folder. I was able to boot to the mane menu and access the AV settings after I completely removed the APL2 folder and \apl\navi.exe from the Flash drive. I really would like to see someone step up and help me figure out a solution to this problem. Getting a base set of files will not only help me but provide a n
  10. I tried unsuccessfully to get into Windows CE. I received the error message about mabdbinfo. This was preventing me from getting into testmode. no big deal. After a couple of days, the screen would go black after about 20 seconds. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16938 I tried installing the firmware update and it looked like it was going to fix the issue. Unfortunately the unit still keeps rebooting after going into system startup. I did find that I can now get into test mode. So I am looking for someone to pm me about obtaining a good working backup to try
  11. try loading the latest firmware again. I was having the same problem - with the unit shutting down after 20 seconds. I could not get into Windows CE prior to this as I was getting an error message about mapdbinfo. I downloaded the the latest firmware and put it on an sd card and booted up the unit. THe firmware update process kicked in and installed all the files. rebooted, but I am in a constant system is starting up mode. The thing is though I can now get into Windows CE with no problems. I suspect that there is software corruption on my unit. If you try to do the firmware, t
  12. I was getting the same error on mine as well. then I started to get the "screen goes black" issue. I ended up trying to apply the latest update from pioneer(it already was supposed to have this installed). The updates were applied, but the hu still doesn't come to the main menu. However it does let me get into Windows CE! There could be an update on the hu made by pioneer (my unit was manufactured 7/28/08) before they were released. Not much time to do anything more tonight.
  13. That worked! I now have my main menu again. WOW! Maybe premature...still not fully working...keeps rebooting No problems loading in testmode. Still can't get the unit to boot to the msystem menu. Definitely a software bug.
  14. Just loaded the latest firmware off from pioneer's site and at least it is showing the update page. Fingers crossed!
  15. mine does the same thing. Unfortunately I bought mine off ebay and pioneer won't touch it. the guy says it needs a software update.
