I'm quite confused as I understood the AVICSync app need for the 5/5s to run app radio on the NEX units wasn't out yet. Sure, you can mirror with the HDMI cable and Pandora, AHA, etc work with the USB/Lightning cable, but true app radio doesn't work yet, right?

CarPlay is what spurred my purchase, and honestly, it's obnoxious that I need $100 in cables for things to be compatible.

Just picked one up. Installing on Sunday. Kind of unclear what exactly I need to get my 5s to work in app mode. Do I really need the HDMI cable, plus the lightning to digital AV adapter plus another lightning cable? That seems a bit excessive. Sorry if this has been clarified elsewhere.

Fixed the startup screen issue. Redownloaded the install files and the firmware from this thread. Reformatted both cards and re-installed. Problem gone.

Links to all the files are in the Official 3.0 upgrade thread. Last page. Still having the "System Loading" problem with the 5 minute reboot after trying to upgrade. Anyone have any success with fixing this?

Any resolution for this? I've been trying the same thing, and get a very responsive system, with the startup label on it. Reboots after 5 minutes or so. 900 model. Frustrating to say the least. Using all the correct files, 2 gig SD card on a Macbook pro. No need to extract anything so haven't had to use winrar.

Can someone upload a copy of their firmware file that is hacked? I'm interested in adding the quick launcher, TomTom and custom icon's/voices, but have NO idea how to do the software/SD card setup on my mac.. Throw a guy a bone huh? Thanks dudes.

I wonder what it would take to get OSX on the AVIC? So all I have to do is make sure the SD card is formatted in a FAT32 for the AVIC to read it? I just want to do some little mods like icons/backgrounds and whatnot..

Is anyone using OSX to mod their F-series? If so, how are you doing it? Can the F-series read an SD card from OSX? Any help would be great! <-----Mac only guy here.
