I have used an mp3 car type of head unit for the last 10 + years. For those that don't know that is a computer in the car. My priorities have changed a bit and I see most head units do this kind of stiff. I was hoping someone could answer a few questions about the units available. > What unit is the most extensible/hack-able, If I wanted to use a external usb device can I? i.e a mouse or cdrom drive? > Can I install any apps on this CE os? > What head unit will allow me to play mp3s from a cd/dvd > Do any allow me to custom hack, edit the GUI? > do any of the head unit

I read that in test mode its quite posible but I wonder how hard it would be to get these device working in gui mode. Any one install any software with success? Say for example codecs and a player for the non dvd version?

Hi all dont have my unit yet but planning on buying it. I looked at the Eclipse and Kenwood competitors but looks like the AVIC owns. I like the windows CE idea.. So here is what I'm wondering. Does anyone think its posible to install drivers for simple devices like wireless usb nics, keyspan remote control, keyboard(thumb board), or mice. Also would it be posible to install other apps ( assuming yes). I'm not sure if pioneer disabled the mouse all together. I have a built in mouse in my car for my car-puter and in some cases pref that over touch screen. May use them interchangea
