  1. Yes, disconnect the GPS antenna from the back of the unit. I did this to stop my unit from rebooting so I could listen to music. Unfortunately I still have not found a solution to the reboot problem. I have tried everything in this thread short of updating to 3.0 as I'm not willing to pay for an update. I've now removed the unit from my car and I'm waiting for Pioneer to get back to me on how I should return it to them for repair or replacement.
  2. Thanks ginner but I'm in Canada so wont work for me. This is very frustrating, I'm so disappointed in pioneer for putting out such a terrible product.
  3. Can someone tell me how you "re-install the software" In other words how to install the 2.0 firmware again if it's already installed? This is the only fix I haven't tried.
  4. Hmm I haven't updated to 3.0 yet but it's updating as I type this so I'll test it out and see if I have any issues.
  5. Tried the method above, doesn't work at all, firmware is not re-installed. I've now tried every solution in this thread with no success. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm almost resigned to the fact that I'll need to ship it off to Pioneer.
  6. I've now tried the resettoOEM and after reconnecting my GPS antenna I still have the same issue. As soon as the car starts moving, the system reboots after about 20 seconds. I really don't know what to do next. I'm going to try the method mentioned above to reload the firmware and see if this helps at all.
  7. cmh - thanks for the link I have been away for a while but I'll test this out tonight. Hopefully this works as it's a huge hassle opening up my dash to reconnect the antenna and test it. ginner - try disconnecting the GPS antenna cable and see if the problem stops. This worked for me but I'm still trying to find a solution so that I can reconnect the cable. I'll reply here once I've found one.
  8. I think I want to restore my system completely to factory software. Does anyone have a complete backup for a 900?
  9. Well good to know we have the same problem for sure. Let me know here how that turns out because if they fix the issue it should be the same solution for mine. Hopefully it's nothing major like having to replace the unit.
  10. My parking break wire is grounded and I did a software bypass, which has worked 100% fine until now. The first time the error occured I DID get a parking break not connected properly error right before it rebooted, however that has not come up since. I've also checked to make sure the wire is still grounded correctly. What I really want to try is uploading a complete backup of a factory 900, but I can't seem to locate the files here.
  11. The issue goes away when the gps antenna is disconnected so I really think it's a problem with the avic not the car. (at least in my case.)
  12. 00silver, that is the exact issue I'm having as well. I bypassed it for now by disconnecting the gps antenna but have not found any other solution. See my tests in the other reboot thread and maybe we can combine notes to help each other.
  13. I've now confirmed all my wiring is good, and the issue occurs when the unit starts tracking GPS movement for some reason. I've disconnected my GPS antenna for now and the rebooting has stopped. I really want to find out what is causing this though. It just started suddenly and I can't make sense of it.
  14. So I've now confirmed through further testing that the problem only occurs when the vehicle moves. After I hit about 20 kph it starts rebooting. I really need to figure this out.
