Can't believe no one else has replied/responded to this... I didn't have success w/ doing this using the TVOut you're using... I tried several from Cydia - TVOut and TVOut mirror or something like that... It never would display Sling in Landscape. So I uninstalled those and found TV Out plugin, which works great... it's based off of TVOut 1.8 by ashikase. I loaded a small movie sample (.mp4) on to my iPhone, start it like you said on the Avic, then Home button, then start Slingplayer... and it connects and is displayed - works like a charm. Who did u email at pioneer? just replied to the original confirmation email... That address looks familiar. I'm not going to waste time discussing the morality of getting this update for "free" - enough time has been wasted discussing that already. For what these units cost, this how the F series should have worked out of the box... or atleast after the 2.0 update (mho) all I know is I'm enjoying this head unit again - directsales@pioneer-usa.com

Cancelled mine last Saturday after upgrading... Did it via email no problems. Got a reply and cancel notice by Monday. jb

make sure to move the whole Testmode folder over not just the files. In other words the testmode folder to the root of the sd card, not copy all the files from the testmode folder

I would try the wince.img update and format listed in several places on here. Then you can just update to 3.0 and probably be good

That would be nice! Tried update from SD 2 times - failed at Map update - red error screen. From Testmode 2.3- Finally just copied/replaced all files from that LPU main folder APL, APL2, etc rebooted and reset - worked like a charm.

Just wanted to say thanks to the guys that posted/hosted/shared the files and the info!!! I'm currently running the 3.01 latest update, and it really is like a brand new Unit!!! Enjoying the F Series once again... boot and response time is awesome! Thanks again... jb

The only port is a female ipod dock port like you'd find on an ipod. It gets its power from the usb port. There's also a blue light that is solid when the device is looking for a phone to connect to and flashes once every 6 seconds once connected. Other than that, it's just a white plastic box about the size of the ipod plug on the apple cable but a little bit wider. If you search for Anycom FIPO you can find some more information on it. Can someone describe the ports/connections on this thing? I didn't find any other pics othere than the Spring store single picture... Is it powered? If so, how. So I assume you plug the Ipod/Iphone AV cable in to this device right? I'm trying not to sound stupid, (I'm actually an IT guy, and a techie) I just want to see some pics or get a good description of the connections. Thanks guys! Nice Find! jb

You may need the EZRider.exe included in the ir.zip too... but don't use that until somebody else says so for sure. Indeed... I'd tried the 2008.10 maps yesterday just for kicks, and they def. did not work. - so 2008.4 it is then... If and when I start playing around w/ Leetlauncher - then I'll try out the other Maps and Navi software - Thanks jb

Hey guys... I loaded the 2008.4 maps with the other files last night (just for GA to test) and they worked just fine. Here's my question - Will 2008.10 maps work with our Avic Units ??? I've been doing a lot of readint (lately in the Leetlauncher 3.0 thread) and I'm seeing conflicting info - some say it will work and some say it's not compatilbe with the Avic F series Anyone know for sure or currently using 2008.10 maps w/o problems??? They should probably make sure their dealers know this is the case... so they don't give out the wrong information. The shop I was at, had the entire F series on display and the newer 3100(i think) unit. F series had a big display offering a $200 rebate - which I thought maybe be another indicator of trying to get rid of inventory... I guess overall this is great news JasonH has posted, I've read a few threads talking about a 3.0 update - any idea when the upgrade you are talking about will be available?
