  1. Overclocking would be cool, but how about replacing the whole WinCE/AVIC software with Andorid? The poster mentioned knowing/being close with a number of Android devs. How difficult would a port be (especially if the CPU is the same as some phones?)
  2. Does anyone know if it is possible to tether an iPhone via USB to use the internet? My iPhone has tethering enabled (I can tether to my desktop computer via USB), and the AVIC has a USB port. I tried just plugging the iPhone in, but it doesn't appear to be registering on my AVIC as anything is connected.
  3. Can you share how you did the 3.01 update. Some people are saying they followed Pioneers instructions, and that now their unit hangs.
  4. So interestingly enough, I redid the whole process. Now I get an error at the Pioneer Boot Logo that says: InitalizationError: LoadLanguage failed. I remember getting this back in the day when playing with LeetLauncher, but I don't recall how I fixed it. I think I had to replace some lang file somewhere, but not sure with what. If anyone has any thoughts, please share. I am in the process of redownloading the file from the torrent listed, and will try this one more go before just giving up and reverting back
  5. That happened to me when I used the hacked ezrider. Try using the ezrider that comes with the download. Not using the hacked EZrider, just the stock one from the download. To be clear, I followed the instructions here exactly as listed. After everything comes up, the unit reboots after 5 minutes. I've tried updated to 3.1, and the update went fine...but still get a reboot after 5 minutes. I went ahead and restored my backup, and verified everything is fine with 2.0 software. I then walked through the steps here again to update to 3.0, and I get the same thing. Not sure why it
  6. After walking through all the steps, everything looks to be ok but the system constantly reboots every 5 minutes. I hear the new button sounds, and can check the system info and it shows I am running 3.0 firmware. But the "System Startup" message never goes away, and the whole unit reboots after 5 minutes. I am thinking it is the WinCE update. When booting into testmode, and checking the WinCE version, it shows that it is 5.0. I thought I read here (somewhere??) that it should be 6.x. I grabbed all the files from page one in this thread, and didn't get any errors at any stage. I am running
  7. Just confirming that this also works for me. Appears to have gotten rid of the warning for all means I have found to get it to show up (except cold boot directly to Navigation). I have yet to experience any crashs/reboots, but i'll keep everyone updated!
  8. I'm about to do this, and i've searched the forum, but I can't find images of what the parking break lead looks like. I can find info on the mute wire, but not what i'm looking for. So basically, if I take the green parking break lead, and unhook it from the parking break (I got install done at Best Buy, so I assume it is hooked up that way), all I need to do is ground it to somewhere on the metal frame, right? Will I need to pull out the dash to access this? I drive an SUV, so the parking break is under where the other pedals are. I'm hoping I can just find it looking up there...
  9. When you say move music around, do you mean like add/remove playlists in iTunes and then resync? And once you reconncet to the AVIC, things are good?
  10. Actually Apple is substantially revamping the BT in the iphone OS 3.0 and adding A2DP, and I suspect that may be causing a lot of BT-based issues around its new version. That's entirely possible... While the above is true, my original post was in reference to the iPod cables for music playback...which doesn't use the bluetooth. Apple is revamping how devices are connected to the iPhone (and iPod Touch) via the connector. So Apple opening up APIs for the physical cable connectors could impact music playback on the AVIC.
  11. Sorry if I came across as blaming anyone. My point was to just point out that on the pre-release of the Apple iPhone software (3.0), it is not compatible with the AVIC 900BT. I don't recall this incompatibility existing when Apple did the upgrade to the 2.0 software. It very well could be that Apple is still working out bugs, and there is nothing for Pioneer to do. However, I also know that Apple is changing how devices that connect with the iPhone function (and they have opened up a bunch of APIs in the SDK to support new behaviors). Because of this, it very well could be if no update com
  12. I am an iPhone Dev, so I currently have access to the latest seed of the iPhone firmware. Previously, when running 2.1 my iPhone would complain that the "accessory" being connected wasn't compatible but things still worked just fine (played music, charged, etc). Now however, I don't get any message on the iPhone (other than it is charging) but the AVIC after about 10 seconds throws up a message saying "Unable to connect to iPod, please reconnect." I've tried just about everything I could think of (disable bluetooth, enable airplane mode, fresh restart). So it looks like some of the changes

  14. Two things: 1) I know it has been discussed, but if a "script" or something could be written which would autolaunch our desired GPS, and then launch into AVIC, that would be awesome. I am trying to play with the binaries now, and see if I can't rig up something, but without the code I don't know how far i'll get. 2) Is this still being worked on? If not, any chance the developer would want to open source what he has done so that others might continue where he has left off.
