  1. I am having trouble with my Verizon LG dare on the Z3. It connects everytime without fail. But sometimes when I make a call it dials, then makes the connection but no sound eminates from the speakers. The person on the receiving end gets my call and caller ID but also hears nothing. I must power down the phone and power it back up to remedy the situation. Has anyone else out there experienced this problem? If so I would be interested to here of your experience. Thanks.
  2. I had this problem as well. Ultimately the only fix was to bypass the external amp and use the one in the z1/2/3. Tried many other solutions without success.
  3. I have recently updated my Z1 to a Z3 using the pioneer upgrade disc. All is working well except I sometimes get a loud humm during calls (verizon LG dare telephone). The only olution is to end the call and redial. It is not a cell signal issue. Anyone else experience this. Suggestions?
  4. I had this problem as well. I was finally forced to bypass the external amp and use the pioneer internal amp and the ground loop then went away. I also tried an isolator that reduced the hum but did not eliminate it. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2062214
  5. Does anyone know of any freeware that will burn mp3's onto a dvd as dd files to play back on the z1/2?
  6. I had this problem as well. My installer was very familiar with it and tried many different fixes (I have a 2006 camry). It is a known issue with pioneers and we ultimately had to remove the external amp and use the built in amp to get rid of the whining noise. As an alternative there are products that will convert your speaker outs to a line level out that will then allow you to use an external amp. You can avoid pioneers preamp out that way. But this has not been tested to the best of my knowledge.
  7. Turns out it was the loose connection. We wound up using an unused (yellow) wire from the same connector since there is no connector in that pinout. Are there any tips to keep that connector stable and prevent the same thing from happening? I asked the installer to stuff something in there to keep it from coming loose but he did not want to do that.
  8. Thank you. If it were a loose wire would I still have the nav functions?
  9. I have an original Z1 with the bluetooth update and the 2 wire bypass. I have removed the module from Ducatiboy. Everything has worked fine for many months. Just today I now get a flashing message after the dvd has been playing for a few minutes which says "Attention:Viewing of video source while driving is strictly prohibited". It flashes and then the video continues, it then becomes more frequent. My first assumption was that a wire is loose. But all the nav functions still work while in motion. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.
  10. Wow thank you Ducati boy. You are always a wealth of information. Is it possible my installer hooked up the VSS to the wrong wire? When it was hooked up I got a correct reading by the Z1 on the VSS pulse and he is very familiar with pioneer and toyota. Right now it is disconnected and I have no shifting problems. But it is more accurate when it is hooked up.
  11. Thank you for the links-they help. But the VSS wire was correctly hooked up when the erratic shifting occured. It stopped as soon as it was disconnected. I realize it should only work one way but there must be some feedback on the VSS sensor in the Z1. Is there some type of limiter I can place between the Z1 and the VSS wire in the car?
  12. The VSS wire is connected to the cars daignostics. It was already there when we installed the Z1--presumably for the toyota system originally installed in the car.
  13. Thank you Misfit. The connection is actually a push on connector. When attatched the erratic shifting occurs, when disconnected the erratic shifting stops. Where would I look for a cut wire?
  14. I have a Z1 installed in a 2006 camry. It was correctly and professionally installed. After a few months the car started downshifting at odd times like while driving at 65mph. After multiple diagnostic trips to the installer and toyota dealers it was decided it was the VSS connection from the Z1. Sure enough the weird shifting (it is an automatic) stopped as soon as the VSS wire was disconnected. But the unit is definately less accurate now. My question is--does anyone know of a device (capacitor, resisitor, etc) I can install between the VSS wire of the Z1 and my car to solve this problem? Th
  15. If I have a dvd in the drive of my Z1 it will play in the background while listening to music. In other words when I start the car the dvd continues to play even if I am listening to XM or FM. If I turn off the car and the dvd is at 30 minutes of playback and then start up the car again later, drive for 15 minutes while listening to music and then switch back to dvd it is now at 45 minutes, not where I stopped it (30 mintes). Does anyone now how to prevent this from happening?
