  1. My Z3 just started to do this. I was actually in the middle of copying a CD to the HD and it just stopped and said "unreadable disc". I figured the little laser thing must have taken a shit.
  2. When I'm listening to the music on my 120GB classic and a song ends, it seems like the ipod gets a concussion. When it is time for the ipod to shuffle to the next track, the head unit says "search failed" and the ipod locks up for about 20-30 seconds. Then the head unit starts playing something from a totally different genre/ artist from the ipod. It never used to do this but I pulled the ipod out of my car to update the library and now I have this issue. The songs/ genre that the ipod gets caught up on are random and are not just one particular song/genre. Any Suggestions?
  3. I have a 2004 Pontiac GTO with 2 JL 8w0's in the rear deck, Polk audio momo 6.75 in the front doors and rear seats. I'm only running the polk crossovers and tweeters in the dash. The Momo's are powered by a PPI 4400.2 and the subs are powered by a PPI 2600.2. I am using a Pioneer Z-3 with ipod, xm, BT. I've been trying to tune this since I installed it. I did the turn it up till distortion and adjust the amps accordingly to dial it in. My problem is now, it seems like every single song that comes on, I need to rearrange the dynamics of the head unit. It seems that while I'm try
  4. Bump, still without XM and Ipod. I reconfigured wires and made sure the colors were right. I also noticed I just started to get a slight alternator whine as well as a thump coming from the left rear sub about 5 seconds after the car is powered off. Don't know if this helps, but any other help would be greatly appreciated. It also seems that the bass or tuning from the HU is too much or not enough. Is this the music I am burning to CD's or is this the HU? Do I need better amps? I am running the components from a PPI 4400.2 and the subs from a PPI 2600.2.
  5. I tried moving the in and outs around as well as resetting the XM and nothing. Is it possible my XM unit is bad but still show power? The wiring goes HU-> Ipod-> XM. Any help?
  6. I have recently installed my Z3 with BT (NDBT1), Ipod (CDIB100II), and XM (GEX-P20XM). I had rigged the HU and the Ipod adapter up just to get it to work for a long road trip and I had Ipod usage. FFW, I had disconnected everything and reinstalled it. I now have everything hooked up and I have BT functionality as well as full functionality of the HU but the HU is not seeing the ipod or the XM. I hooked a multi-meter up to the XM and Ipod and they are getting power. When I hook the ipod up, it gives me the default screen that something else is controlling it but nothing on the HU. What gi
  7. I wired up my Z3 today and I have a few concerns. 1.) The display is pretty dark. I changed it to the daylight settting but it still appears to be very dark. 2.) A lot of the icons in the user interface are greyed out including phone options. 3.) I have no radio. (I assume I have the powered antenna hooked up wrong) 4.) I having trouble trying to figure out where to wire the PAC-SWI module in. Do I do this color for color on the harness coming out of the back of the head unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I picked mine up at Fry's. They had it mismarked for $590. It's a longshot to happen again but Fry's usually has pretty competitive deals.
  9. My name is Will and I'm checking in from ls1gto.com. I have been looking for something to spend my tax money on. Either Heads for the goat or a new stereo. I finally decided on a DD nav unit and I really like the Z3. I look forward to chatting with you folk here!
