  1. If you are in North America you need NTSC compatibility. This is the link to the camera I bought. When it rains you can see the drops on the case, not a big deal but one with some kind of weather shield might be nice, if it doesn't interfere with light to the camera and look too big. Mine is attached to the license plate I drilled a 1/2" hole to run the cables in and filled it with silicon. The hole is not visible. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0559423811 i ran the ACC ignition line, reverse line and camera in line from the stereo to the trunk. Connect the ACC to the +
  2. Thanks for the advice. This worked perfectly. The camera start automatically when the car is put in reverse and I can switch to the rear camera at any time. If anyone is looking for a good deal on a camera I got one on eBay for $14 including shipping.
  3. Thanks for the info. Just to be sure I understand, let me recap. Take the 12v ignition and ground & connect to camera. (can I use any ground?) Take the reverse camera lead from the head unit to the reverse tail lamp. Is that right. Sorry to ask you again. When something is new to me I sometimes need to be real specific. Thanks again.
  4. Cool! I was hoping that would work. Thanks. I am pretty happy with this unit, I like it better than my old AVIC-F900BT.
  5. Hi All. I have installed the 3200bt with a relay by-pass and i am mostly please with the unit so far. now i want to connect a backup camera. My question is about the reverse camera wire in the harness. If I understand this correctly the positive power line of the camera connects to the power line of the reverse tail lamp and the camera neg power line is grounded. So does the reverse camera wire in the 3200 wiring harness connect to the same power wire of the reverse tail lamp as the camera's positive power line? That seems right to me, but I want to double check it before hooking it up
  6. Hi there. I have the 3200BT and a Sprint Evo 4G phone. The initial pairing was simple and quick. I have noticed that if the Blue tooth radio on the phone is "on" before the the 3200bt is powered up, sometimes it doesn't pair. However, If the 3200bt is powered up before the blue tooth radio is activated on the phone then it always pairs. It is a little annoying, but helps me remember to turn the blue tooth off on the phone when leaving the car and that saves the battery on the phone. Maybe this will help you too.
  7. I have seen a few post on iphones, I didn't see any answers that directly address this problem. There are a ton that answer exactly this problem! It's usually that : A: You didn't change AV1 over to ipod B: You didn't use an ipod cable with RCA composite jacks C: You used an ipod cable with composite jacks but didn't hook them up. ipod/iphone control is via USB, audio and video come in via RCA. Brilliant! OK that last line is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks. I am sure the shop didn't hook it up with RCA. I will take it back and ask them. Thanks for your help. Richar
  8. I did set av1 to ipod, but only after it was connected. Maybe it will make a difference to have it set prior to connection? I will try it again and post results. Thanks for the reply.
  9. on my 900BT using my iphone connected through the usb you get all the displays (album art, artist, title etc) you can advance songs, search cat, random. It seams you can do everything available except listen to the music. I have seen a few post on iphones, I didn't see any answers that directly address this problem. If anyone can share some wisdom, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks chemjab
  10. Al least on the Pioneer AVIC units The XM interface is so much better. I am very glad I changed it out, I even like my AVIC again. I listed all the improvements here. If anyone is thinking of switching. Do it. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21771
  11. Thanks for the heads up. I know this was originally posted 2 years ago but it is still working. I just got XM last Friday 2-20-2009 and asked for the $77 deal I saw on the internet. They said no problem 1yr and no acitvation fee. I just switched from Sirius. Man am I glad I did. The sirius interface sucks on the AVIC-F900BT. I hated it every time I turned it on. But all is good in XM land.
  12. Hey Snakeyes Thanks again for you help. I had the XM tuner (GEX-P920XM) put in last Friday. I am so glad. Before the switch, every time I turned Sirius on I felt like I was getting ripped off. I really hated it. This is much much better. Channel Name, Artist name, Song title, Station graphic and # all displayed correct. Even the presets are better. With Sirius no info is displayed, just preset 1...etc. With XM the station # and name are displayed in the presets. The online listening is better with XM too. With XM you can see a list of stations with songs currently playing. To mak
  13. Awesome. Thanks tor your quick reply. That is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted XM to begin, but the dealer carried Sirius and talked me into it. The XM interface is so much better than the Sirius interface. I will definitely change them out. That is if they don't fold under bankruptcy. thanks again, chemjab
  14. I have an AVIC-F900BT with a Sirius tuner and a crapy Sirius display....I hate it. It blow chunks that you can only show 1 line of text on it. I am thinking of taking it out and replacing with a XM tuner. Will one of you tell me if you can display more than 1 line? At a min the song title and Artist. Does anyone have a screenshot of the XM interface? Would it be worth the time and $ to make this change? Thanks in advance.
  15. This really blows for all the same reasons stated above..... If I had know how crappy it is I would have bought a Kenwood. I just saw a kenwood and it blows the Pioneer away I definitly recommend the Kenwood indash nag over the Pioneer AVIC-F for any thinking of an indash nav unit. cafagna can you post a link to this discussion....................It sounds like the XM interface is better than the Sirius interface. Thanks
