  1. First, if you need help, we need some information about your AVIC: Which firmware are you running? Depending on the firmware version you need to change ezrider, and install the correct map version.
  2. Pretty much all the new flash chips can and is programmed by JTAG; I can't find any references for programming the high capacity chips with a programmer. I built some time ago the Willem programmer, and I still have the documentation around. Upon interest, I can publish the documentation, and if I recall correctly, some source code(for DOS) has been published, too.
  3. I have no idea what version are the EZrider 3.01 maps, I suppose TeleAtlas 2009.02 (090410), bu I could be wrong. Regarding the map notations: TeleAtlas 2009.02 (090410) means that map has been closed by TeleAtlas at 2009.02, and has been released by NNG at 2009.04.10(NNG releases the maps, Pioneer just reselling them).
  4. Look at bright side of the situation: at least, you have newer maps in your AVIC ...
  5. Remove the TeleAtlas maps. If you have two maps for the same state, EZrider will choose the newer one, according to the map release date(choosing USA_Louisiana_83_2009.Q1_090611_NavTeq over USA_Louisiana_83_2009.02_090410_Tele_Atlas, for example).
  6. Both mapsets are work in progress; practically none of the companies has the manpower to finalize the mapping and introduce all the data onto the maps ... So flip the coin, and choose.
  7. Are upgraded for version 3.0? If not, upgrade, backup, then play with the maps... And don't forget the worldwide license...
  8. So far I didn't came over the Navteq premium POI's, only TeleAtlas or NNG. It would be interesting to compare, since I'm pretty unhappy with the TeleAtlas POI precision... Backup completely your AVIC, because you need to make room for the Navteq maps...
  9. About POI: USA_Illinois_Premium_2008.10_090212_Tele_Atlas.poi : 16,196,780 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.Q4_090227_NavTeq.poi : 2,990,104 bytes About buildings : USA_Illinois_2007.09_071004_The_Sanborn_Map_Company.3dc(TeleAtlas) : 812,160 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.Q4_090219_NavTeq.3dc : 709,062 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.08_080812_Nav_N_Go.3dl(TeleAtlas) : 1,008,689 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.Q4_090218_NavTeq.3dl : 967,717 bytes And this is typical for every country or state...
  10. I have no idea if the Navteq maps include or not hwy signs; for the rest, google is your friend. BTW, I didn't updated my F500 to 3.0, I waiting for the last two weeks for Pioneer to ship 3.0 upgrade...
  11. Yes, you can, even if it's not recommended, because the TeleAtlas POI's are way better then the Navteq's. @tommyis3:check your PM's.
  12. Yes, you can use any Navteq/TeleAtlas/WhateverProvider buildings/POI/landmarks/petrolstation/whatever addons. Results usually are OK, at least there are not known bugs ...
  13. The search function is Your friend...
  14. You can mix'n'match TeleAtlas an Navteq maps, but there is a known problem: the maps doesn't connect. In other words: You CANNOT make a route from an TeleAtlas map onto a Navteq map.
  15. You should add the worldwide license too, just in case...
