  1. I have installed a Dreamcast (I know, old school) and plugged it in to the AV1 jacks. It works, but the video has wavy lines in it, and the audio has a slight buzzing noise. I plugged the dreamcast into my TV in my house and it works fine, no issues with the video or audio.. anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing it? I have tried playing with the settings but nothing has worked. I also attempted to securely seat the connectors, no change. I also have subwoofers, could it be the EMI from the AV cables going back to my amp? (I'll test this and post if this works). Thanks
  2. I have mine on my dash, on the drivers side way in the corner, its not even really noticeable, and works fine. Depending on what brand of tint you have, it CAN interfere with the signal. I would recommend putting it up front, away from it, but if you know what brand of tint you have you may be able to google it and find out if there is interference. (for example, formula One Pinnacle films will not interfere, but others will)
  3. Installed AVIC, seems to be working ok now. Just in case however, I also re-stripped the cabling going to the amp and to the speakers. All seems fine now.
  4. I have been having issues getting my 700BT to recognize my crappy flash drives, so I was wondering if anyone has a flash drive connected to their F-Series that is working flawlessly? And if so send me the model of it so I can buy one myself. By the way, I have ruled out: 4GB Insignia MP3 Player 2GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro Flash Drive 8GB Geek Squad Flash Drive 4GB SanDisk MP3 Player The SanDisk devices were recognized, but kept causing issues. Thanks all!
  5. ok, update. First off, I tried an SD card and seems to work fine. I am using a Lexar SD card I bought from Target and it works flawlessly. With USB, I tried 2 more devices - a SanDisk Cruzer USB thumb drive and a SanDisk MP3 Player. Both at least connected, but both of them ended up making the AVIC freeze up multiple times, and the music stopped playing once. Also, in browsing my results in the search function on here a little more, I saw that someone else had a problem with a Geek Squad 8GB flash drive - leads me to believe the AVIC doesn't like Geek Squad Drives. I also used my
  6. What's up everyone I just got my new 700 installed today, and was trying to connect a USB device. However, when I plug the USB device in the light for it comes on, but the USB source option is still grayed out. (I have tried my 8GB flash drive and an Insignia MP3 Player) All the devices I have tried have been FAT32. I have tried to leave it plugged in and restart, plug it in while on, etc. Anyone else had this issue? I looked around in the search and only found a couple threads which didnt really answer my question. I have not done any hacks or mods (yet).
  7. Need a tip from some audiophiles out there I have two 12's in my car, and I have been hearing a loud hum from them intermittently. I have a feeling it is my head unit (which is being replaced with an AVIC this weekend ), but I am curious to know if anyone else has had this issue, and what was causing it? Maybe that way while I am in there I can fix whatever else might be wrong. Thanks!
  8. I just ordered my F700, waiting for it to come in the mail. Putting it in a 2005 Suzuki Aerio, which needs custom install. I'm glad to see such an awesome community has formed around these units!
