What does the hide away unit look like? I bought a truck with the D1 in it but did not see a "hide away unit" when I was modifying my unit. Roger

Check Ebay, there is a guy out of Florida selling both (you choose) East or West for about $20.00. They are the 2008 original discs, I just got one for the West from him and it works great in my D1. Roger

Solved my problem with a original 2008 Pioneer navigation CD from Ebay. It cost me around $20.00 for a factory sealed disc.

Yes I did....Bought one off of Ebay and it will not work, here is the info. AVIC-D1 unit, Disc was a Memorex DVD+R DL recordable 8X-8.5GB-240min. Can anyone help with this?

Did you find a West CD? I am looking for one too as I bought a truck with this unit in it but the disc was trashed and would not work. I tried one from Ebay (copy) and it won't work in my unit????? It was copied to a Merorex DVD+R DL disc..........

FYI, fiqured it out......Found a picture of the plug on here with where the bypass wire needs to be. It is off the black plug and inserts above the factory black ground wire. Thanks again for your comments. Looking forward to doing the same thing when I upgrade to the F90BT.

Thanks for the links, but I have been there already. The manuals do not tell me which wire color is in what location, especially if my plugs have been messed with. If you have information on colored wires and where they belong (from the factory) that would be helpful.

Second question......I have searched all 14 pages and see that some use the white plug and others the black plug.... Which plug is used (black or white) to do the bypass?? Ihave the AVIC-D1 unit. Thanks in advance! Roger
