  1. I did that one but then the HU becomes totally useless. No display, no control. My CD-IB100 becomes an expensive AUX cable. btw thanks "whtcrxghst" for the replies; it's like you're the only person that replies to me.
  2. I just bought a 6th gen iPod to replace my old 5th generation. Is there a workaround in order to gain control of the click wheel like the 5th generation? I tried the old "off when plugging in" it didn't work; it used to on my 5th. Thanks
  3. Does anyone have a 6th generation iPod workaround CD-IB100 or CD-IB100ii?
  4. So I tried my idea. It kinda works; i tried it with both an iPod (80 6th gen) and an iPhone. Here's what happens: 1) With the rocker switch set to "off" and the iPod is plugged in, control is gained with the clickwheel; however, display and control is lost on the HU (avic z1) 2) If the switch is "off" and switched to "on," the iPod clickwheel loses its control and display, and the HU gains both display and control 3) If the switch is "on" and switched to "off," the HU loses control but has display; the iPod does NOT gain control nor display. 4) Switching the rocker back to "o
  5. I have a crazy idea. A little on the extreme side. The "blue" wire (on CD-IB100)that is pulled gives functionality on the click wheel, but without the wire, the HU screen does not display info and all iPod control on HU is lost. I'm thinking of splicing this blue wire and setting a rocker switch between. That way I can control it from the ipod when I need by flipping a switch. Then when I want to use the HU display or controls, I'll switch the switch back. Does any know if this will work?
  6. Oh ok. Thanks. Do you know anything about the click wheel trick?
  7. I used the "timing plug in" technique with my 5th gen video ipod and it worked great. I just bought an 80 gig 6th gen classic ipod, and I can't get it to work. Is my timing off? Or is it not possible with 6th gen? Do I need to cut wires?
  8. I have a Z1 and I used to be able to control my 5th generation ipod using the click wheel by using the "turn-off-ipod-while-plugging-in" trick. My ipod broke (bike incident), now I bought a new 80 gig classic ipod (6th generation), but I can't get the "turn-off-ipod-while-plugging-in" trick to work. Does anyone know if it still possible with the 6th gen or is my timing off? Also I saw a lot of posts about video function on their D3. Is this possible with the Z1?
