  1. That's how it's supposed to be. It's just letting you know that watching a video while moving is dangerous and "strictly prohibited." It's all the legal stuff. If anyone can figure out a way to do away with this message as well as the Navi warning, that would be great, but as of yet I don't think there is a way to do it.
  2. Does anyone know if those antennas are going to work after the digital switch? I didn't see anything on there about them being HDTV compatible or about them being digital compatible...
  3. I applied for the coupon a while back and got it about the second week in April, I 've just yet to be on and comment on it. The converter box I got was the Artec T3AP. It does not require a power inverter. I plugged the AC adapter into the wall and used a multimeter to determine which wire was positive and which one was negative. Since the AC adapter's output was 12 volts, I figured I could rig something up. I found that the wire with the white markings on it was the ground, and the plain black was the positive. I cut the AC adapter off and spliced the plain black wire into the cigarette ligh
  4. Is there a limit to how many gigs the USB stick can be? I got a 16 gig one for Christmas thinking I could load it up with all my music but when I did, the head unit would just go extremely slow. If there is a way to mod this or get around it and someone knows please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  5. I've never dealt with the converter boxers before, so I wasn't sure if they were tuners or now. I was just browsing through some of the "General" topics on the forum and went on one of those, "Man, that would be pretty slick." tangents and tried to come up with a way for this to work. Do you know how much those antennas run for? It's not a feature I would kill to have, but it would be pretty cool. Especially now with the bypass and such. Thanks for all your help.
  6. Does anyone know if it would be possible to get a TV onto the head unit. Suppose I took advantage of the government coupon deal and got a free converter box that was run off of 12 volts, and a VCR that did the same, would you see any issue as to why this wouldn't work if the VCR outputs were connected via RCA into the video in on the head unit? Basically, the idea that I have in mind would be to get an antennae, connect it to the digital converter box, and then connect the converter box to a VCR and use the "TV Out" option on the VCR since the Avic doesn't have TV tuning capabilities that I
  7. Changing the gauge of the wire between the alternator and the battery isn't going to make a difference. The manufacturer isn't going to put wire on the car that is not suitable for what the alternator is pushing out. Just because you put thicker wire on the alternator, doesn't mean that it is going to be pushing more current at all. If you are still convinced that this would make a difference, take it into a mechanics shop and have them hook a D-TAC up to it and run a alternator probe test. If you are looking to run your system without the car running, then go for another battery. If you
  8. Invest in a capacitor. How much amperage is your amp drawing. Even with a good electrical system, if your amps draw enough amperage even with the car running you will bog down on electrical power. The best bet is to invest in a capacitor because like it has been mentioned, it is not good to have your battery be constantly drained and recharged, it isn't a deep cycle battery.
  9. Usually a hum is caused from having your wiring ran past a fuel pump or a distributor cap. Anything that will cause electrical interference will cause a hum. Invest in some shielded wire and that should fix the problem if it comes back.
  10. All of the files can be found here. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18977 Scroll down to the first reply and click the two links that you need. The pioneer.ini file should not be blank. Redownload everything from the above URL and see if that fixes things for you.
  11. What program do you use to edit the files and put the modified codes in with? Do you have to extract any of them?
  12. I've never seen that before. Make sure you're not trying to open the pioneer.ini file, you're just trying to copy and paste it onto the head unit. I don't know if that's what the issue is but that's the only thing I can think of.
  13. I tried to download the zip but it had some login page. Do we need a user name and password to get this?
  14. I did it on the F700BT. It's not an actual speed cable, it's the GPS antennae. The GPS knows how fast you're going. Are you planning on installing this yourself or getting it installed somewhere?
  15. That happened on my F700 when I had the GPS mounted on the driver side. I took the time one day to move the antennae back to the trunk and I haven't had a problem with it since. Where do you have it mounted?
