  1. Did you ever get it wet and/or spray cleaner on it? Unfortunately, the design makes it very susceptible to issues due to the buttons being part of a ledge at the bottom of the unit. I ran into a similar issue with my 8100 and was fortunate enough to return it and have it replaced. I am very careful when cleaning the unit at this point.
  2. UPDATE: I was able to get it working on the Moto X 2nd gen on verizon. I had to update FW to 1.03, which was the first thing I had done. I also needed a different cable. For whatever reason the motorola cable I had would not work with my phone even though it worked fine on the Samsung Galaxy S6. I had tried multiple cables, just all before updating the FW (bad luck on my part). Had I tried a cable after the FW update, I would have figured it out then. The reason I did not suspect my cable after the update was 'cause it worked on my friend's phone. Moto X must be more sensitive to the ca
  3. I know this has been asked, but I have yet to find a clear answer. On the NEX series, there are two screens, the 'splash screen' for 1-2 seconds followed by a 'loading screen' for 3-5 seconds. Pioneer touts the ability to change the splash screen...but who cares when it's barely visible and immediately changes to their own loading screen. I previously owned an F90BT and was able to actually replace that loading screen, which was considered the splash screen. Anyway, has any figured out a way to actually replace both the splash screen and loading screen with an image? It was easy on the
  4. Thanks for the replies...tried a number of cables and given that another phone works using the exact same cables I am 'assuming' that it's the combination of the Moto X 2nd Gen and Verizon. Hopefully someone else on Verizon has the same phone and can post. I also tried a friend's Samsung Galaxy S5 on Verizon and it did NOT work (running Lollipop 5.0 flat). Verizon, as usual, seems to have done something with their custom ROM that prevents phones from working with Android Auto.
  5. Are you on Verizon? I tested a friend's galaxy S6 edge on 5.0.2 and it worked fine. They are on Sprint if that matters, but it at least confirms that the USB cable works in addition to the 8100nex.
  6. Yes. Smartphone settings are usb2 and Android auto is enabled. Thank you for the reply.
  7. I am not able to get android auto to work on my new install. I have a 2nd generation Moto X (2014), running Android 5.0 (lollipop). I have installed Android Auto. When I connect it to the unit via USB 2, which is configured for Android Auto via the menus, nothing happens. The App does not launch and it appears to make no attempt to run Android Auto. Calling pioneer for assistance is a waste of time. I am very technical and am assuming there may be some compatibility issue with my version of lollipop and android auto. I have the latest version of google services installed if that helps.
  8. I have this issue every once-in-a-while. I've discovered that it occurs when my iPod is connected. I would suggest, assuming you have an iPod connected, simply disconnecting it and checking to see if it boots. I've found that if I manually shuffle the songs on the iPod with it disconnected, and then reconnect it, the unit will usually function fine after that. I assume this may be a bug with input from the iPod and poor interpretation from the unit.
  9. CMH928: I think I found the issue with the TTS saying 'Take thenext left/right'. I noticed in the rules.ini file for the TTY, you don't have spaces before the following lines: /(^|\s)?turn right\b/i/-->" turn-rite " /(^|\s)?turn left\b/i/-->" turn-left " /(^|\s)?next right\b/i/-->" next-rite " /(^|\s)?next left\b/i/-->" next-left " I assume a space indicates to the TTS to have a brief pause. Anyway, I changed that and it seemed to work. I have no clue what I'm doing, but wanted your input.
  10. I am having the same issue as reported by 'FF' where the 'Take the next right/left' sounds like 'Take thnext right/left'. The entire word 'the' is not enunciated. Just curious if anyone else is having this problem. Also, how can I reset everything back to the default as far as the mods go just for the TTS on the GPS? Thanks in advance!
