  1. For starters my Z110 is installed in a 2005 M3 using the stock HK amp amd speakers. I usually run the volume around 20 with the windows up and 30 with them down. Basically the nav guidance and phone are so low I can't hear them over the ambient noise in the car. I have already maxed out the volume for both in the settings and currently have it setup to use both front speakers. I've also played with the loudness setting with no success. I know BMW has some wacky crossover settings but I can't understand why these 2 items are so much lower in volume than everything else.
  2. Main advantage is no programming. I read too many stories about the PAC lag on volume changes and such that I decided to try something different. The downside is no programming so you can't setup buttons to do something different than factory.
  3. That is correct. On the Kenwood you need to navigate the menus even with voice control. That, the UI lag, slow iPod response, and iPod controls that were lacking is why I went with the Pioneer. I've only had it installed for a week but it is so easy to navigate and use I'm glad I chose it over the Kenwood even though it cost me an extra $450.
  4. BSW did switch to their own speakers last year. They no longer use Rainbow. But, with that being said I'm going to return them. The stock amp has way too much frequency loss. To top it off the previous owner of my M3 took out the stock sub to save weight so I have no low end at all.
  5. Strange because the RDS info scrolls. I'm in Columbus, OH and I get RDS info on the stations that broadcast it. I'm only using the built-in FM tuner so maybe the HD tuner is different.
  6. I hope you liked the Kenwood UI because you will need it when doing the voice commands as well. Here is an example bluetooth phonecall sequence: On the 9140 it goes something like this: 1.) Press button to initiate voice command 2.) Access phonebook 3.) Page 4.) Page 5.) Page 6.) Look at screen to determine line number of the contact you are looking for. 7.) Say that line number 8.) Look at the screen to find the number you want in that contact info 9.) Call that number 10.) Confirm On the Z110BT it goes something like this; 1.) Press button to intitiate voice command 2.)
  7. I'm in the U.S. I got the unit and interface shipped for about $78. Took about 10 days for it to arrive.
  8. Last I heard was v3.1 was supposed to include the Bluetooth profile that allows remote control via A2DP.
  9. Purchased it from Dynamic Sounds in the UK. I have the Pioneer output. It looks like it's a 3.5mm miniplug but I was hoping to verify before I purchased an extension cable.
  10. I tried that last night but never get the option to delete. It always tries to register a new device. How many phones did you have linked when you deleted one?
  11. I installed my Z110BT in a 2005 M3. For those not familiar the E46 based M3's have everything located in the trunk. I went with the Connects2 steering adaptor and it came with a nice premade wiring harness that I would like to use. Since it plugs into the back I need to extend the Pioneer remote connector to the front. Anyone know what type of connector Pioneer uses for the remote control interface? It looks like some type of miniplug but I want to make sure I get the right one.
  12. That sucks. Hopefully it will be fixed with the software update planned for this month. Have you found any way to delete the profiles from the HU itself?
  13. I just installed my Z110 but I'm having serious issues with the Bluetooth and Bluetooth audio. When I try to play music via Bluetooth audio it keeps cutting in and out. It does this no matter where the phone is located. I tried re-pairing but the problem got worse. I also noticed my iPhone is only pairing as a Bluetooth audio device and everytime I try to make a call I get a message that the audio device will be disconnected. I tried deleting the entry for my phone but it appears you cannot delete anything until you have 5 phones paired. When I select the registration option all I get is
  14. Thanks. I am currently in the 30 day window on the BSW's but I may return them and just replace the amp and possibly the speakers. I found my issue. The wire taps I used were not small enough to tap into the factory remote wire. Once I fixed that I had sound.
  15. I finished up the install in my 2005 M3 over the weekend. The problem is I get no sound from it on any sources. I ran 3 pairs of RCA's to the trunk and used a Sven4 to interface them with the factory amp. I also hooked up the blue/white remote wire to the white wire in the amp harness (the correct wire according to all the BMW forums). Since I ran RCA's and didn't need the wires on the Z110 I just wrapped them up behind the HU. Is there some setting I missed that activates the RCA pre-outs or is this done by default if they are hooked up? I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in the manua
