  1. wow thats really weak man and im sorry to hear that. i was just coincidentally back on avic forums to see if they had a trading post section, but i couldnt find anything. i happen to be selling my D3 on craigslist right now, but i dont know this forum's rules for stuff like this. if you are interested, its fully functional and i have ipod, bluetooth and gps complete setups. DM if u want to chat.
  2. wHen you say press and hold, do you mean on the iPhone or on the d3? Where is the menu that shows what devices are paired on the d3?
  3. In your opinion, will I be able to access navi menu if I have the proper disk but no gps antenna?
  4. i bought my D3 used and the guy only had canadian disks so i opted to pass on the whole GPS system all together. i have an iphone w/google maps and am slightly paranoid of the whole GPS thing etc etc. i have a couple questions, that i think might be able to be answered by having the CNDV-MT80/90 disks, but im not really sure, and dont care to buy $30 of DVD-DL to experiment and im not even sure if my imac will burn DVD-DL's a little background info: the disk drive def works, cuz i have played various DVDs and CD without issue. when i put the HU in navi mode it says "por favor ins
  5. heres a contribution from my personal choice backgrounds
  6. ah, sorry, i didnt mean to insinuate that i am getting the apple composite cable since i only have an RCA input available on my D3. this is the one was looking at: http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=11455 it was recommended in another thread and it seems to be the most reasonable and affordable way to get video off an ipod. edit: i do have a double USB charger for the cigg outlet
  7. any idea how i can encode other avi's to divx? im not too familiar with all these codecs. i just use VLC which plays just about any movie file, so the background stuff is all a mystery to me haha
  8. on OSX you can just create something called a burn folder, insert blank media dvd and just click burn. its basically a data dvd, nothing more. no menu, nothing. just one file on the whole disk, as depicted.
  9. i know this isnt supposed to work but it did. heres a screenshot from finder showing that the file on the disk is an avi. i didnt think it would work, but i figured id give it a shot anyway and it worked just fine. watched the movie all the way through without a single issue. btw if u havent seen it, put it at the top of your list. amazing film. anyways, im a little confused as to why this would work. any ideas? i dont really recall how i went about burning it, but i think it was most likely that i created a burn folder in finder (mac) and just clicked burn. also, its a verbatim dvd-r.
  10. question about the dock > RCA cable: i seem to recall seeing one that had a power source that could be hooked up, but (as im sure most of you are aware) having your ipod plugged in to a power source for too long/too often etc, is not healthy for the battery. im wondering if there is a way to toggle the power on/off. thoughts?
  11. So the original iPhone won't stream? What about exporting contacts/making calls? Also, is that the ONLY bt adapter or might this seller have a different one? I know he had an avic hooked up to it prior to the hu failing on him. Thanks a ton for letting me pick your brain.
  12. What about classic/"fat boy" nano models as far as video out for the headphone Jack? If not, I guess there is dock connector to RCA option and is cheaper than buying a used 5/5.5 having on screen control is less imperative than getting video esp since video usage disabled on screen controls anyway. Also while I have your attention, I am about to purchase a Bluetooth adapter but I wanted to verify streaming capability before I pull the trigger. I've seen some had issues with it. What's the official word on that?
  13. Just to clarify....the av1 3.5mm input on the front of the d3 will play video from any video compatible iPod/iPhone as long as I have the corresponding 4 pole male/male cable? This is pretty significant to me because I was about to buy a 5/5.5gen iPod video to get this thing working proper. Thanks in advance, awaiting your reply.
