  1. Seems like Pioneer finally got their game together and released the new map software on sd card for the s1 but its rediculously priced at 150 bucks. If you guys know anyone who paid for it please find out if they can rip the map info from the sd card and burn it to a disk or something. They can post it on one of the bit torrent sites and then we will be able to upgrade our crummy nav systems with better maps and better directions. Anything to save us some cash would be highly appreciated.
  2. Your map software is older than one year. Please contact manufacturer for updates. Something along those lines??? I found a software update and posted it a while back but i have never seen a map update. Any input would be great.
  3. this update is from the US website and is not foreign, just so you know
  4. the Razr does not support OBEX bluetooth profiles. Your phone needs to have OPP in order for the phonebook info to transfer over. The only phones Verizon has that will support that is the Q and the Treo.
  5. TMC Kit for the AVIC-S1 Get real-time traffic information on your AVIC-S1 portable Sat Nav system and avoid the jams. By adding the ND-TMC1 - it's an easy, straightforward connection that you can do yourself - you'll be able to avoid the traffic hotspots throughout your journey. The kit has a Traffic Messaging Channel antenna (TMC), which receives up-to-the-minute detailed traffic information. If the TMC picks up a problem on your journey, it will present you with an alternative route. Your AVIC-S1 will then guide you past the traffic incident. For a one-off purchase of the
  6. The Avic-s1 has an additional port on the bottom for a Hardwired kit you can use to create a semi-permanent install. The only problem is that it was created to work and released only in Europe. In the meantime just get creative with a Pro-fit mount and hardwire the power supply into the car. If you dont want to hack up your only car power cord go buy a generic motorola Razr car charger and use that to power your Avic-S1. They both operate on 5 volts and it will safely charge the S1.
  7. Here are the download directions from the Pioneer Europe website. Download the update from my original link and then follow the directions from this webpage http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/content/suppo ... VICS1.html Hope this makes it easier for you !
  8. Yes i installed it and its been running for almost two weeks. I really cant comment on what it changed as i installed the updated software the same day i bought it.
  9. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 73,00.html This is a link to update your software to the newest version. I still cant remember how i found it but its almost impossible to navigate to this link through Pioneer's website.
